RB/BA Quad Cities Beer Tasting This Christmas?

    I'll be back in the QC again this year for a week around Christmas, anyone interested in trying to set up a mass tasting again?

    As long as it's not the 21-23rd, I'm good, going to in-laws in Chicagoland that weekend. I'm on shutdown until January 3rd, so I'm pretty much free after that.

    G, check out the "Latest Hauls" thread, just because I feel like bragging :grinning:

    So, what are these "quad cities?" I'm not from the area (recent transplant) but I see the quad cities mentioned frequently in the threads.

    Nice set of bottles there! Fairly flexible on dates, Sunday the 23rd is looking to be the best weekend day, or the 26th or 27th during the week.

    I will have to bring a couple of them when we get together.

    Hell, I'm free any day that week, during the day or night. If a date doesn't work for everyone else, you're welcome to come over here and have a few.

    The "Quad Cities" are two cities in Illinois and two in Iowa, bisected by the Mississippi. Moline and Rock Island in IL, and Davenport and Bettendorf in IA.

    BTW, when is Bettendorf going to get a brewpub? It's the only Quad City without one....

    The people of Bettendorf are too uppity to slum it at a brew pub.

    By the way, Great River does Firkin Wednesdays now, something to think about when you're in town.

    OK, I realize we don't have a date set yet, but was just starting to think about where we should hold this epic event. A couple of years ago we had it at Front Street in their basement room and it worked out very nicely. But, what about Ribco, is there anyway we could do it there? If we were to do this on a week night and maybe sit away from the bar area, I think it would be a great place to do it. Jamie and J, since you guys know Ryan, what do you think of this idea?

    It's cool to take a bottle or two in there, once and awhile, but I don't know about taking a bunch of bottles/growlers in there to do a mass tasting. I think that might be pushing it, and it might put Ryan in a difficult spot.
