I personally cannot imagine spending over $60 on two beers and not even fully reading the description

    lmao

I've been waiting on this one for a while, and agree. The idea of "braggot but maple syrup not honey" always sounded kind of neat to me. Frankly, if anything I'm disappointed they labeled it Imperial Stout!

Again, maybe just because I remember their post from well over a year ago, I knew exactly what this was. As some have said, their barrel program has been pretty good lately, so maybe @Bburns87 will be pleasantly surprised.

Sorry, this may have been too much positivity as per BA bylaws regarding Mikerphone...

Anyone try their lactose-infused heroin yet?
There, that should balance the thread.

they released the description of it last week saying it was a stout with adjuncts. I read the first paragraph and said ok I’ll go grab the bottles before they sell out. I never expected to get to the next paragraph and they had tried something they have never done lmao.

it’s not like I’m disgusted by it and not going to drink them, it just sounds very very sweet

yeah like I said I’m not sitting here saying I don’t want to drink it I’m just saying my excitement died a bit when i saw them braggot portion. In a million years I never expected that to be the next paragraph in the post.

Besides, people loved BAOMWM and I thought it was unbearably sweet, so I’m sure worst case I can trade my second one for another ba bottle from mikerphone that I’d enjoy more.

I did the exact same thing - not sure why they didn't mention the braggot part last week. Tried it yesterday and I enjoyed it. Obviously very sweet but really liked the maple flavor that came through. Wish they'd other pour size options besides 10oz though.

you think this is something I should sit on for quite a while? I didn’t get to try on tap because my friend happened to be there when it dropped so he grabbed them for me.

might open one and let the other sit for a year or two

I'm curious how it would age - I feel like sweetness tends to not go away. The cinnamon is a nice counterbalance and I could see that fading with time.

How does it compare to ISLBS (BA or standard)?

I am usually not a big pastry stout / sweet beer drinker, but ISLBS and variants (BA or standard) are the exception, and the primary Mikerphone beer I seek/drink. If it is similar, I would try to hit for a draft pour next Wednesday.

The Untappd comments (caveats apply I know) are showing a common theme of extreme sweetness. Some are enjoying that but it is putting a lot of people off. As a bottle owner..color me concerned at this point

I mean it's 30% maple syrup. What exactly did people anticipate here?

EDIT: Also, it's been a long week. So the laughs are much appreciated here today.

I generally agree, but I just saw a picture and I have to admit those bottles are pretty sexy.

It’s also funny that the Mikerphone collab with Shared/Side Project, Smells Like Vibes, resulted in the lowest rated (on Untappd) Shared beer released yet. Mikerphone DOES ruin everything!!

I would write a longer comment about Self-titled, but I'm going into diabetic shock.

Lowest rated Vibes, far from the lowest rated Shared beer
