2nd that thought on Pumking and Schlafly. We can't get Schlafly in our part of PA but managed to pick up some sixers out here in Indiana, my wife loves it as well. It's a really well done pumpkin beer. I've really enjoyed some Barrel Aged Pumkings over the years as well. Weyerbacher has a decent pumpkin beer but haven't had it for awhile, they've been really quiet on the beer scene over the last year or so.

@cjgiant taught me about mixing the Schlafly with a little salted caramel whiskey. It's pretty amazing.

Yes indeed. I picked up 5 different ones the other day and put them in my cellar where they will stay for about the next 1 1/2-2 months. That way, when it is actually the correct season/time of year for pumpkin beers, I'll have a good selection to enjoy.

The Blue Moon pumpkin version tasted surprisingly good because of the paucity of pumpkin in the beer to begin with. I'm sure it substituted sugar for pumpkin in true Blue Moon fashion to get cheap brownie points.

I was in a local grocer and saw Pumking sitting in the refrigerated beer section and impulsed buy-ed. Glad I did...haven't had in a couple of years and man is it good. This is the year of Pumpkin beer for OMK. Already 2 packs down (Schlafly and ST) and I imagine many more to go.

What was for me these pumpkins three...

    1) Southampton Pumpkin
    2) Dogfish Head Punkin
    3) Smutty Pumpkin

I generally tend to shy away from pumpkins these days but I think the Southern Tier Warlock is okay, too.

Also, if you're a brewery hiding your pumpkin beer behind a cinnamon sugar rim on your serving glass, you're doing it wrong.

Do you remember Traveler? They dissolved several years ago, but were an extension of Boston Beer Co. that specialized in shandys/radlers. One of their more prominent releases was their annual pumpkin shandy - Jack-O Traveler. This latest pumpkin release from Samuel Adams is pretty much an identical version of that beer which was too sweet in my opinion, but had a loyal following back then.

Boy, I have forgotten about Traveler Brewing Co. (a subsidiary of BBC). Do you have more details about whether this business is still operating? There were some reviews on BA from 2019. Are their products (shandys) no longer selling?

    Cheers!

Absolutley. I picked up a relatively cheap mixed 12 pack of these (and their pumpkin stout) last weekend and enjoyed them all. Just gotta get around to actually reviewing them

To answer the title question... no I don't even like them. But I do not judge other's taste and I hope you all enjoy what you personally like. There are enough styles for everyone. We are living in beer Nirvana.

If it was from New Glarus it’s be a hit, like Cranbic, SA, so ya no not so much. If you haven’t had one a trade for NG Cranbic would be the shit.

There was a time when I would look forward to when pumpkin ales would appear and would pick up as many as I could. However, my love for them kind of dwindled down and I now prefer Oktoberfest beers in the Fall. But, I still pick up one 4-pack of Saucony Creek's Maple Mistress every year. . .

Sipping on a Punkin Ale currently. Tasty stuff. Tastes like I'm ready for fall!

I like Pumking (and Warlock), as well as Schlafly, Aleworks, and others. But it's been a good while since I've had Good Gourd, which I think is one of the best pumpkin ales I've had. Want to have it again to see if I still feel that way.
