What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #2863

I don't know how you did it, but that is about the most perfect picture right now. My dog is wondering why I am laughing so much. I need to get to Texas sooner than I originally planned. I have some beers for us to share.

 

Switching it up from the IPA theme. Beer #4 is a classic Belgian Quadruple. I used to only drink new beers. Now I revisit some solid favorites like this. As a result, life is better and you really get a better feel for the benchmarks. A great example of how a beer that has been brewed for a long time (over 70 years) is amazing. They have had time to remove any flaws.

 

Evening WC. And @RaulMondesi I have no idea what the club hours are now Ive been off the grid. But back in the we day made our own hours...Just sayin.

 

Time for a beer while I keep making my way through season two of Umbrella Academy.

Prairie Corner Piece Imperial Stout w/ “birthday cake flavor”...whatever that means. It’s basically a big chocolate/vanilla/marshmallow stout and it drinks exactly that way. Milk chocolate, vanilla frosting, and melted marshmallow are all there in spades. I’m the one to actually call out the corner piece of cake, so this definitely satisfies my dessert urges. Outstanding show, my daughter and I finished it up a couple of days ago...blows away season 1 IMO

 

Riverlands is a very good brewery out here. It’s not one of their best, but it’s still very solid. I hope you enjoy it!

Old Nation M-43 Tart Strawberry


450 North Slushy XL- Granddaddy Purple

 

This one uses Citra hops. At 50 IBUs, they call it a Citra pale ale, but it’s pretty close to a hazy, juicy IPA. Aroma is very much orange juice, the flavor a little less so. Finishes a bit tart, almost no residual sweetness. Another nice iteration from CC. Cheers!

 

You're the second person to tell me season two is better. I feel like you have to make it through a whole season to really appreciate it and decide how good it is. I'm about three episodes into season two.

It's very good. Nicely balanced and well made.

 

How is it going with kid number two? Divorce worked out well for me in that scenario.
