Cheers to those that are not a fan of the OG now. Always loved this one and it’s been at least 3 years since I drank my last 2013. Yes indeed, what Rev does now is Light Speed ahead of this but it’s pure nostalgia to me right now! And happily downing it Solo!

Will be sharing a 2015 Straight Jacket bomber with a buddy that never had the old SJ soon enough. Was a lucky find in a Central Illinois bottle shop a couple months ago for original price to boot!

 

For past online releases, how long has the pickup window been? Trying to see if I can manage to swing by for one of the Deep Woods releases when I'm in Chicago for other things.

 

Two hours...and they are willing to work with you if you need to pick up at a different time. I speak from experience.

 

Whoa!!! So does that mean one day only, with various two hour windows available on that day?

 

Think they did Fri-Sun for Mixed Ryeway. Pretty sure it was one hour time blocks though?

In my mind, I didn’t even need to see you say this (once or twice). With everything ever said on here - by all the BAs and by @BeerCruncher - I wouldn’t even question that the CS would be superb.

The last time I was in a Chicago, We had a family emergency, and I didn’t get to visit anywhere, let alone Rev or GI. Was a disappointment, but they will certainly be on my hit list when I get to go back.

I won’t lie, pre COVID I was looking for conferences in Chicago to see if one “fit the bill” for work...there was also going to be a (very legitimate one) in Hawaii. GDI COVID!!!

Correct. The morning of July 9th emails for the presale of MB Ryeway went out. It was like an hour before the presale went live. Presale of July 9th for pickups July 17th-19th.

Sanctuary 13 crowlers available -

Give your sweet tooth a cleanse with this dry, boozy, tannic monolith. Dry component Boss Ryeway blended with a touch of dry component Deth’s Tar aged for 12 months in a WhistlePig Boss Hog Armagnac barrel and “finished” for 18 months in Heaven Hill Bourbon. Its low residual sugar content accentuates the spicy, oaky, boozy temperament.

 

I’m always interested in these one off beers and interested in trading for crowlers but 32oz is a lot of big beer and requires sharing. Does anyone have input on how long a one of these is good for?

 

It’s kind of silly for me to say “I wish,” since I am not actually in chicago, and thus matters not to me...but, I do wish they had the ability to crowler smaller sizes than 32oz. I have often wondered, if I was in Chicago, how many I would buy. I don’t have anyone else ever to drink with, and 32oz of high ABV is just brutal in a single night.

 

If you ever notice that I've made a slew of poor quality posts on here...I probably got my crowler on.

 

Very very tempted to drive in tomorrow after work to grab one, then regret it on Sunday morning.

 

Do you wear like a full track suit and get comfy before you get your crowler on?

My wife threw me a surprise 40th bday party at Rev. Besides being awesome, my degenerate and loving friends sent me home with 6(?) crowlers of various one offs. I had a few Boss Ryeways, and the second stayed in my fridge for maybe a 11-12 months. It had lost a step or so from the canned/draft version, but was still quite good.

I just picked up crowlers Supermassive and Deth by Berries last weekend (that I have yet to open) but I want to make the trip for this one now. And before last weekend, I haven’t purchased a crowler since GI’s Shamrock Stout in March.
