Voodoo Brewing usually releases their Caution! Contains Real Pumpkin BA Barleywine in the fall. Unlike some of their other Barrel Room Collection releases, it usually sticks around a bit longer but who knows how things will go with the new Covid procedures. I believe they have locations in both Erie and Grove City that should be selling them, and possibly at their Meadville location as well. I'd avoided barleywines for years after some overzealous experiences in my younger days, and drinking one of these last year opened my eyes again to how delicious they can be. If I happen to see an announcement about the release I'll send a message your way.

As much as I’d like to say I sent that package, I did not.

Similar preferences, but I actually make a big exception for pumpkin beers, the more indulgent the better!

Good grief, I am an idiot some times. (My wife will attest to this) You are right and I mistakenly credited you for the beer @Roy_Hobbs sent to me. Many apologies Ross, I can't even claim to have been under the influence, just a bad goof on my part.

Good thing I had already swallowed my coffee. Spewing liquid all over my keyboard would not have been ideal.

If it's not too late to get in on the action I'd throw in a vote for Xavier's Blue Blob. I mean, what is it? I love mascots that blur the line between cartoonish and absurd, and the Blue Blob does that in leaps and bounds. If I entered too late I totally understand, but go Blob!

Wow. Just wow. I got home from Texas to this tonight.

This magnificent hit is courtesy of @Roy_Hobbs. To say he is a beer nerd of the highest magnitude would be an understatement of mythical proportions. All are new to me with the exception of Catharsis, and I absolutely LOVED Catharsis, so I’m glad to have the opportunity to enjoy it again.

Did I mention that he sent me Abner? Are you flocking kidding me????? WHALE SIGHTING!!!!!

THIS is EXACTLY what these BIF’s are all about - just a stupendously generous group of beer nerds that love to share great beer. I’m verklempt.

You are a rockstar, Ross. A goshdarned bona fide beer nerd rockstar.

Jesus man, way to paint a target on yourself!

And Abner is the damn truth!

Seriously, we haven't even started the next round, and you're dropping absolute bombs, man. Holy shit.

Right all, I am posting this from the phone so I don’t have the helpful image showing the list and random number generator, but I wanted to get this out so it would be done.
I did two number picking lists, one with Pinz412 and one without, and both of them came out with the same person: @wonderllama is that person. Congrats, please pm me your address and I will get a box out to you.
    Cheers!

I don’t even know what to say. What a magnificent beer. You rock, @Roy_Hobbs. Top 10 beer for me, and I’ve been around, you know (channeling my inner Al Pacino).

A beautiful hazy golden orange color, the head is nearly perfect - a pearl white color, really dense and foamy, it literally creates a lace wall down the glass. Never seen anything like it.

The nose is dank tropical aromas, especially grapefruit, pineapple, mango - and also some pine. Wow. I didn’t see that coming.

The grapefruit is prominent on the taste, and it has a candied element that is absolutely magnificent. There’s also pineapple, mango, and the aforementioned pine. Perfectly balanced, with no hint whatsoever of the 8% ABV, this is an example of a brewery confident in their prowess with hops.

The mouthfeel is really dry and substantial, as expected. What a treat this beer is. If you look in the “IPA Hall Of Fame,” this beer is one of the original inductees, IMHO.
