Going to Monterrey on Weds until Thurs. I am def hitting ASB and the Fieldwork bar, which I think is also open for outdoor seating. Any recommendations for stuff in Monterrey, or on the way? I am driving from LA. Cheers!
You may want to make sure that if you're using GPS to get to your destination that you remove one of the r's or you may end up in Mexico, lol.
I’m trying to get back to MRY. Because of Covid we don’t fly direct to MRY right now. I’d have to go through SFO. Check out Fisherman’s Wharf. It’s all walking distance from each other. Don’t forget about Big Sur and the redwoods not far. The food at ASB is very good IMO.
Depending on the route, you could swing through Modern Times Santa Barbara. It's a pretty insane tasting room.
Also, if you have a few minutes to spare Third Window Brewing in Santa Barbara is putting out some nice beers worth a try. https://www.thirdwindowbrewing.com/
He's got the dankness dojo already so I don't think Santa Barbara is going to have all that much more unless the ambience is just killer. Dansac if you're planning on going out to any nice restaurants highly recommend Montrio Bistro in downtown Monterey. I've visited Monterey a few times and dropped by there on 2 separate occasions and the food and experience have been outstanding both times. You could get to Sante and it'll only really be a ~45 min drive up North from Monterey.
Just got back. Fieldwork was closed, though they didn't announce it in their insta or webpage. Got some nice cans, though. Had about seven hundred beers on ASB. The food wasn't great that evening, at least the few items I tried (calamari, clam fried with chicharron, and oysters). Not bad, just a bit bland. Great beer, though. Double Cone is simply ridiculous. Also got some Galaxy Baby and TKN cans. The YOE stuff is criminally underrated. Oh, and Compagno's deli might be my favorite place on earth. Ridiculously good. Hildalgo Taqueria looked damn solid. Thanks to everyone for the tips!
My in-laws live two blocks from Compagno's and I make sure to eat there multiple times every trip. So, so good!
