Pretty sure they’ll only do it for OH T-shirt wearing bros. Or boogie board stuntz swim shorts wearing bros. Hat won’t do the trick.

    I formally apologize now.

    @RauchbierFan33, you’re fucking hilarious.

Listen to you all, giving up on mixed 4 packs before even mounting a proper effort to marshal the awesome power of this message board to effect positive change. On the contrary, @afroskully is a hero and we should all follow his example of peaceful disobedience by means of operationally disruptive indecision.

Or just keep asking politely, whatever you're comfortable with.

I'm with you on it still being great, but I think the beer is a bit different than it's been in the past. We're consistently getting this awesome melon note more frequently. It was a differently sweet and thicker/frothier at one point. It was more bitter at one point a long time ago.

Also really digging Citra+Galaxy. Glad to have a case!

Is not it possible that the pandemic has caused fluctuation in grain and hop products, either due to travel restrictions or increased demand? I'm no economist despite what my degree says but the aluminum situation paints a picture of how even the most basic components become harder to get.

Like @SeanEDPBK I am also skeptical of perceived changes over time. In general most things are better when new and become harder to maintain expectation over time. Sure there is something newer and better somewhere but hey that's been the industry for the last 20 years.

I know it's only been a couple of months, but living in the backwaters Upstate has clearly done nothing to dull your edge thus far. Or that of the guy you remind everyone of.

And shapeless baggy jeans are actually a highly preferable look for a man compared to nut-huggers, but maybe that's just me? Figurative or not, it's the imagery we're all forced to process.

Now, if only you could tidy up that hideous grammar of yours, you'd be close to perfect.

I should have posted this on Monday when I drank it but it got lost in the sauce....Small Riwaka Everything is fantastic. One of the best beers I’ve had from OH this year. Iirc, it was very soft and filed with a tangerine/orange taste. Hop Monsoon, otoh, and this de-bunks @RauchbierFan33 ‘s theory about me, was a mess. Very, very sweet. Off-puttingly actually.

I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light on an old OH bottle I have. I bought a bottle of "Imperial Stout" (all it says on the label) at the brewery somewhere around August 2014. We opened my buddy's bottle and it was a gusher and not very good so I never opened mine. I was under the impression it was their first ever bottling, but now I'm not so sure. Anyone have an idea?

That’s the first ever OH stout, I have that same bottle! Never drank it, it was not well rated and I do believe it was over carbonated. I believe I waited in a small line for it. If you don’t know any better, I am a big deal around here as an OH historian and OG.

Yes Small Riwaka was excellent! I had that and Tumbleweeds on Saturday. Both excellent afternoon outdoor beverages.

Haha yes! Like a silver chain OH link label or something? I opened one in line for 5th anniversary I think (@Comparison_Ford 5th?) and it was well past it's prime. Cooling it a bit lower should help with gushing, perhaps put it in the freezer for a short bit after it's been in the fridge a while? To the point that your buddy's bottle was not very good, your's won't be either, but it could be fun!

I do think the stout was their first bottle, followed by some combination of V Love and Brett Saison.

Also the Green City BA stout with Vanilla/Coffee is really good. It's got a little bit of roasty acidity, but is a great stout. It isn't cloying or excessively sweet and it doesn't drink as hot as it's ABV. The vanilla treatment is really nice and works well with the barrel. My wife's response: "Oh, maybe Other Half has figured out stouts."
Now, do I think other brewers are doing this at 9-12% ABV rather than 16.7? Totally, but whatever, this is what I have.

Cool, thanks for the information! This is the one with a silver label and pink text. I probably won't open it at this point but I guess it's a cool little piece of history, for whatever it's worth. I've got great memories of making the trek out to that little brewery. Took a growler of All Green Everything to go and we drank it on the subway the whole ride back to my friend's place in Washington Heights.

Good times! One of the drunkest times I can remember in recent history is in July 2014 spent a good part of day drinking there, got a 32 ounce growler of Green Diamonds to go for future drinking but then decided to drink it on LIRR trip home. You should have seen the look on my wife's face when she was picking me up saw me ambling down the platform with a tulip full of beer and growler!
