France 44 had some J. Wakefield beers today, including Unity Stout and Boss Tycoon (at $41 each).

Side by Side by Side is a good pilsner but I had a hard time finding any oak. Disappointing since I was expected something different. I have two left that I'll let sit a while to see if the oak comes forward but I'm not expecting any change.

Totally agree. Was excited to taste the oak on a crisp fall bonfire night and didn't even catch a whiff of it. Bummer

neither of these are barrel aged, right? that is a preposterous price for a non BA stout.

Clearly you aren't familiar with Mr. Wakefield's work! And by work, I mean outrageous pricing...

Where are we seeing other half dropping? Saw Ale Jail so far. Any others?

Anybody know they’re charging for 4 packs here? Is it similar to the outrageous prices of equilibrium?

Plenty of dollars. Saw the pale ale at $18 4/pack, & the IPAs between $21-30 4/pack if memory serves.

That’s what I was expecting. With them being 20-22 per four pack onsite at the brewery the distro gotta mark them up from there.

Anyone see any fresh hop beers around? I picked up Brewing Projekts which is pretty good, but it’s a hazy. For a wet hop I would prefer something more traditional, but I never remember when they generally release.

    A bit outside the metro:

Westside Liquor in Waite Park got in some beers from the following places today:
Bearded Iris Brewing, Wild Mind Artisan Ales, Octopi Brewing, Humble Forager Brewing, and Untitled Art Brewing - per their Facebook page

I wonder if my distributor is related to yours in some way because I got those exact same brands last week down south. If you are into heavily fruited beers and got some Coastal Sunshine from Humble Forager you should pick one up. They are the best shelfie smoothie "beers" I have come across.

Yeah, it's a lot easier to swallow the $20-$22 four packs from the brewery in BK when you'll pay at least $16-18 for a bog standard IPA at grocery/corner stores.

I grabbed a four pack of DDH Green City from Liquor Barrel West 7th St for $25. It goes for $18 at the Rochester, NY location. I don't know if I'll be buying em regularly (that is if we get regular shipments in MN), but I was happy to pay the distro fee as it was an unexpected surprise to see it here.

Anybody else try Steel Toe's new release simply named, IPA? To me it is a pilsner malt IPA using New Age fruity hops usually found in NEIPAs. Not sure if it is a coincidence or not, but Waconia Brewing just released a similar beer, Wagner's Bay IPA, in cans last week. I like them both.

I agree, it's quite good and easy to drink, but a little fruitier than I prefer. I'll have it around sometimes, but rarely is my fridge clear of Size 7. Still one of if not my favorite IPA's (maybe even beer overall).

I've been out of town. Is there anywhere in the Twin Cities that still has Other Half cans available?
