What's funny is I had it on draft after buying my allotment and was kind of disappointed. Wasn't bad by any means but I wasn't blown away. But the 3 cans I've had were all ridiculous. What's odd is the same thing happened to me with Dank Is the New Juicy. Had it on draft, was like "this isn't bad", then had a can at home and my mind was blown.

Could just be my weird palate. Could also be that VS has an absolutely magic canning line.

I just had this last night at a bar here in NYC, and I enjoyed it more than their other IPA that made it down here last week (Kettle Charge, M Sea2, and Due North), but I still didn't find it mind blowing.

I had some Due North and Just Another T-shirt Shop cans over the last month or two and they're some of the best IPAs I've had

Surprised not to see action in this thread. They seem to be growing as a brewery and their version of “channel”, was terrific this week (though I am a galaxy fan boy).

My theory about that is that they seem to make nothing but double IPAs.

I think it's also that these forums are becoming a little dated to the current beer scene.

Are there long lines on Fridays? Heading to the Cape in a few weeks and wondering what the best time to go would be if I want to be in and out.

Fridays are never as bad as Saturdays from my experience. The general rule of thumb is the later the better if you’re not worried about allotments. Anytime after 2PM seems to be the magic number but of course it depends on the release and the time of year...

(this info is coming from my hometown south shore buddies who go there regularly...never really had to wait because of this)

This is true except between Memorial Day and Labor Day, unless you can avoid Route 3 to get there. I found that after 1pm on Fridays, traffic in the area was a nightmare due to people getting a head start on hitting the Cape for the weekend.

Absolutely. He was asking about lines though, not traffic conditions. Plus he said he’s going on a few weeks so with school in session he couldn’t have picked a better time really, aside from minor construction traffic in Abington.

I grew up off Route 3 in Dux and I still avoid it like the plague in the summer. These days when I’m visiting family in MA I’m usually coming up from cranberry land (Lakeville/Middleboro) so I just take back roads the whole way (Route 18). Hasn’t been an issue all summer thankfully.

Yeah, I should have added that once you're there, lines have not been bad, at least in my experience. I generally have gone early afternoons on Friday and made my purchase within 5 minutes of parking. I agree that now that school is back, traffic should improve. All of this is making me consider a run to Vitamin Sea this Friday! If it materializes, I'll report back on my experience.

Nice. Please do! I’m gonna be up there next weekend so I’ll might be stopping by there next Friday.

Peninsula is really drinking nice; definitely the best out of all the beers I got last time, IMO (Peninsula, Sea The Lights, Kettle Charge, Triple Summer)

Also not that if really matters but I needed to correct my last statement. I meant to type:

I was taking about route 18. Route 3 doesn’t go through Abington. Just felt the need to correct myself lol

I’ll be driving through the area Thursday and thinking about taking a slight detour here. What’s a typical Thursday like? Lines? Numerous options available typically or just whatever releases that day? Any help is appreciated.

edit: I see their website now says they’re only open on Friday and Saturday so I guess this post is moot.

They have only been open one or two Thursdays so far, but I expect they would be pretty quiet, especially if you get there mid afternoon. I don’t think they intend to release anything new on Thursdays, but they could surprise you, I suppose. They have typically ended each previous week with 3-4 offerings, which would carry over to Thursday, so I would expect something like that for availability if you go.

Alright that makes sense that they just opened on Thursdays. I saw recent instagram posts for Thursday but their website hours confused me. I’ll swing by and hope for the best. Thanks.

Sorry. The untapped on the website was only showing Fridays and Saturdays. We added Thursdays as well starting last week. 12-8

I stopped by last Thursday around 6:00 pm. There were only two guys in front of me, and I think they were together. Based on their case counts via Twitter, that Thursday was very quiet. When I arrived they still had everything they opened with that day. Lucky me!

I also am here to report on what I got:

The triple IPA, One Big Happy Family, is amazing. Huge bubble gum flavors. Super smooth and drinkable for a TIPA.

I am also very impressed with the peanut butter stout, Beachfire Stories. Substantial flavor and great mouthfeel for only 5%. Genuine PB flavor.

Elusive was delicious and my favorite single (or double) IPA.

1972 and Breathing: Conversations were good but nothing special taste-wise. Still have great mouthfeel and are enjoyable.

I like the lemon meringue kettle sour more than I thought I would. It's sweet but not "wayyyy too sweet" to me like some people might say. My wife said it tasted like a lemon soda. I agree it barely tastes like beer.

Check out their Instragram feed for beers that will be available tomorrow. Looks like I count five, including new drops.
