Seems weird to me that this was the release that broke their website compared to something like Supermassive. Is the demand that strong for Thundertaker? Maybe it was just me, but this one didn't even crack the top 6 or 7 anticipated releases this year.

It's because it mentioned Buffalo Trace products so Taters got involved.

    Duly noted!

Same happened to my buddy. He wasn't aware of anything going through and got the "buggers a duplicate transaction has been submitted" message. Checked his CC statement, saw a charge, figured an email would be coming, and moved on with his day. Instead got the sorry, no record, we'll refund you email.

Absolutely. Especially allowing to proxy for 5 people. I think beer nerds across the country have picked up on the online sale and it's easy to find a proxy deal that's emerged from Covid. So it goes.

I think it is two things.

    1. I think the fact they allowed proxies for this sale was made more prominent in social media (don't ask me where but I recall seeing it in a few places) than it probably should have been.

    2. This was a very limited supply they had compared to Supermassive or even Mixed Berry as most of Thundertaker was sent to Binny's for this one (they provided the barrels to Rev).

Still no official announcement from Rev Brew regarding this sale, but is it safe to assume that if you got a confirmation email, you are good to go?

Supermassive was available to those with even minimal Rewards points. So it reached many of those who wanted it most/would complain the loudest through presale.

What's considered minimal? I have 350 points but have never received an email. Even when I asked Rev they couldn't give me an answer on that.

Yeah, I think this was more likely the factor. I forgot they had multiple days of varying pre-sales for Supermassive so the impact was spread out more.

Proxies have been available for all of these.

outside of a select few, Rev beers have little trading value, so this is definitely not the case.

the vast majority of us simply wanted to drink the beer

The real answer is that it's finally #stoutszn and the neckbeards have emerged from their summer hibernation and are very thirsty for their first barrel aged stout.

It's almost like someone has put the word hibernation into your mind recently. Or maybe it's because neckbeards really do hibernate, #notfakenews.

Nice email came today - that $30 package is a good deal.

One of the questions we get from people goes along the lines of "those steins are great! How can I get one and enjoy a liter of beer (or a weirdly aggressive amount of milk) at home?" Well, this week is a particularly good one for bars and restaurants throwing their own Rev Oktoberfest events. A lot of them are doing Keep the Stein promotions! Hit that link below for a full list, and go get your fest on safely while supporting local businesses. They'll appreciate it, we'll appreciate it, your dishwasher's top rack may not so much appreciate it but it doesn't get a vote.

FYI - you'll need just under three cans to fill a traditional German Maß.

If you need to Fest in Place, we've gotcha covered with our new Oktoberfest at Home package. we cooked things up to make it look pretty, but this is a DIY package so you can Fest at your leisure.

    You'll get:
    - Six housemade brats
    - Six buns
    - Two pretzels
    - Hero mustard
    - Two six-packs of Oktoberfest
    - Four plastic Oktoberfest mugs

All this for a scant $30. Grab your festival to go at the pub, or order through GrubHub.

When Binny’s offered us access to their hand-selected Blanton’s and Buffalo Trace barrels we knew we’d have to produce a beer equal to the task. Built for body, barrel, and a boldly sweet finish, this Imperial Rye Stout is loaded with Canadian Rye Malt as well as English and German specialty barley varieties creating a deep and dynamic malt structure. The barrels, well they speak for themselves, don’t they?

Pick up a 4-pack at your favorite Binny's starting this Friday.

More fun stuff coming out of the kitchen. The Thundertaker burger features pepperoni, giardiniera, sun dried tomato aioli, and pepperjack. The Reuben features corned beef, apple slaw, Swiss, mornay sauce, and Russian dressing on a house-made marble rye. The Confetti Blondie is a party on a plate -- not recommended for business formal settings. Everything's available to eat in, takeout, or delivery. Plus, you know, beer. Can't beat that.

Called my local Binnys (Wheeling) and was told Thundertaker will be available when they open at 9am Friday. Obviously didnt know how much volume or if they expected a line etc. My guess is majority of Binnys volume wont require you to lineup right at or before 9 am. But then again its the start of stout season and the way this year has progressed to all hell, what do I know??......happy hunting

Great call here, especially for the reasons you listed regarding Cashmere. Took a flier on DDHCH and am happy with it in a grab-a-hazy-from-the-fridge-on-a-Wednesday-after-work kind of way.

Spoke to a couple who are supposed to "get it in on Friday". I'm gonna go out on a limb and say most will actually have it on hand before Friday, and that's when they'll be letting people buy it.
