Yall got me wound up with the talk of the 35th anniversary Expedition. So, i did a little googling and ran across untappd reviews (naturally). Best one:

    4.5 Very good for bells

I'm still salty that Bells stopped sending Third Coast Old Ale to WI. Is there a 35th anniversary version of that coming? I would settle for regular too...

No it doesn’t. None of these apps have live inventory. They just show accounts that carry bells

I found beer using Bell's beer finder before... both BA Expo and VBN. Literally the specific locations that had them. When I called, both confirmed they had it, and I got those beers from those locations within 24 hours. And I was regularly checking it for those specific beers. One day they weren't showing up, then all the sudden they were, with specific locations that had them.

If you look back historically (can I say historically if it’s only the last year or 2?), BAs have reported having great success tracking down BA Expedition using the app. As noted above, it tells you exact locations. Does it tell you inventory? No, but if you see 4 out of 40 stores in your area carrying it, and 2 are outside the city (so to speak), you have places to start calling or visiting. Indeed, this is how people have (successfully) used the bell’s beer finder.

I think I just made a helpful comment. I might be doing BA wrong.

Vanilla BN was a Black Friday release so I would bet the Cafe Vanilla BN will be too

I doubt the beer finder will be useful next week since most places around here will be sold out. Multiple shops have had it in this week, so it will most likely be gone. But, who knows...maybe the ones getting it this week are a fluke and more places will receive it next week.

I’ve used the Beer Finder before as well, with not good results. Maybe it’s cause the limited stuff goes so quickly here in the city though.

Wasn’t meant to be rude. I just have customers come in saying I have something I don’t because they saw it on an app. It gets old letting people down because they came specifically to us looking for a product we sold out of months ago

Used the Beer finder today to find some in Northern Oakland county. The store only got one case, after me there was only one four-pack left.

I picked up a 4 pack in Ortonville Beer World on Wednesday - looked like they only had a couple packs left

Curious to see if the beerfinder is "working", I checked over the weekend and then checked again today. Nothing before today - now today, nothing locally but 2 hail marry.

Probably hitting most locations soon, for those interested.

2020 Expedition is ready to go. No need to cellar. It’ll obviously age great, but the booze is tame and the roast is already in perfect position.

I wish more would make beers like this, but then again, I don’t think anyone would do it much better. I’ve always loved founders RIS too, but won’t be buying anymore founders so this is king of the hill for me.

Forgot to post on Friday but I found 35th Anniversary in the city at the liquor store right near the Rev brewpub. So it's definitely out and about now.

Did a hail mary search and it's everywhere north of me. Hasn't quite made it down to the western burbs yet. One store in Naperville. It looks to be at like every Binny's as far south as Oakbrook. Hoping it will hit Bolingbrook in the next day or two. Likely walk in there later and check for it.
