If you get across the border to Hudson,WI you'll see lots of stuff not available in MN. A very economical use of time would be Heritage Liquors (Maplewood) and then Casanova's (Hudson). Four Firkin's won't get you a lot of things you can't find at Heritage, Blue Max, Zipps, etc. But it is a place of, by, and for beer lovers, so it should be checked out unless it is too far out of the way.

I'm intrigued now. I have to admit The Firk is my usual store (surprised?). Are you folks telling Blue Max and Heritage have a better variety? I am really skeptical of that, but I am going to have to go check it out.

I feel I should explain a few things here. Mbrausen is our "Forever Troll". That is, a troll that will go out of his way to say bad things about us basically forever.

He has not been in my store since I kicked his arse out of there a number of years back. He has never been to the new store because he knows I'll kick him out. He has no idea what he is talking about and I would certainly not give any credit to anything he says.

I've only ever kicked two people out of my store in the four years we've been in business. One was a thief, the other was MBrausen. Our "Forever Troll".

I look forward to his and I relationship blossoming over the coming decades. It really is fun! Everyone should have a "Forever Troll".

    Cheers!

Never been to Heritage but I have been to Blue Max a lot. I would not say Blue Max has a better selection, but a different one. Not even these two stores can carry everything.

I should have known it was your troll! I thought he got booted from Beer Advocate...

You don't allow me in your store. I may be a lot of things. However, I am not a thief.

Also, I'm reasonably certain that MBrausen in not WankerWeasle. I'm basing that on my interactions with both individuals. If you know MBrausen and don't allow him in your store, that makes 3 BA's and a thief.

"I'm reasonably certain that MBrausen in not WankerWeasle."

Can we get a confirmation on this? I am awfully curious.

Ah, why is there always so much drama on a board dedicated to something so wonderful as beer?

SLP Liquor Barrel is a good store and so is the Four Firkins. If you're only interested in getting some good craft beer The Firkins is the better stop.

Having met & talked with both wankerweasel (may his account RIP) & mbrausen, I can testify that they are indeed unique & separate individuals. Though they do have very similar haircuts. And color. Hmmmmm.

I think we need to have a beer summit and work through the differences. a beer of healing and reconciliation.

Just to clarify, you did mean to say "beer summit," not "summit beer," right? I am only asking because (while I enjoy a Summit now and then) I do not consider Summit to be a beer of healing and reconciliation.

Ouch. Why is that? I'd be happy to meet for a beer and let you see for yourself who I am. I met a lot of BA's when I ran Stub and Herb's and always enjoy meeting others.

Can't all beers help the healing process? A lot of people love Summit beers. That fact is cool for me. I got a mortgage to pay and a few mouths to feed.

I really want no part in a shit slinging match, but I must say in Alvey's defense that I bought a beer from him about three years ago that turned out to be infected, he promptly replaced it with no questions asked.
