I don't think you'd need to add. Assuming there are enough people who have both your ISOs, you should definitely be able to close this 2:1.

Agreed. I've seen some big offers for pulpit five. Shouldn't need to add at least where five is sitting currently.

Considering trying to knock off one of my Wants. Would any of these trade 1:1 for a VB Truth:

    Cable Car
    BAVSS
    Fuzzy
    FDF
    LPF
    LPG
    Double Oak ADWTD
    BA Beer Geek Vanilla

Thanks in advance. Been out of the trade game for a bit and just looking for something small and simple without being way off before posting.

I would say everything you listed is on the table, and in some cases you're going to very heavy on your end (like with BAVSS and Fuzzy latest batch).

The one I would think would be most challenging would be Double Oak ADWTD. With LPF and other Lou Pepe beers, it might depend on what year you're looking for. Stuff dating back to '08 will be very difficult to obtain (although totally worth it, in my opinion), but if you're looking at LPK or LPF in the 2013/2014 sticker years, shouldn't be a problem. Lou Pepe Gueuze is typically easier to trade for than the fruited versions of same vintage year.

All reasonable advice purely in terms of "value," but you have to consider audience as well. I imagine people who have been hanging onto things like LPG and LPF either (a) aren't interested at all or very much in a Tree House BA stout or (b) have much easier ways of obtaining it if they are than giving away some of their older lambic.

Fuzzy and BAVSS are definitely on the table though, and note that BA Beer Geek Vanilla saw distro in CA (right?) which might make it much easier to come by too.

Fuzzy doesn't trade much above MSRP. I wouldn't even think about trading something limited, like this beer, for a fuzzy, unless it was with a regular trader. You're selling yourself short.

This isn't me trying to squeeze every nickel, this is just being realistic. If you spent a few weeks on the trade boards, I'm confident you could find Fuzzy at cost. You'll never find that for BACSV, by comparison.

Edit: I don't know the value of BA Beer Geek Vanilla, but I'd be shocked if it was "high enough" to be worth trading this bottle for. I'm sure it could be had with much less.

My point is - when you only have ONE WHALE, don't give it up for stuff you don't need to. If you're slinging whales left and right, by all means be generous. But when you only get 1 - put it towards something you never going to try any other way.

Like I said I have been out of it a bit. I saw Fuzzy had a few more batches since I was first interested but wasn’t sure what the deal with it was these days. But you guys cleared that up for me.

Friendly heads up: You might want to pursue a trade sooner rather than later given at the availability and accompanying "value trajectory" of this one, if you're aiming for some of the things on the higher end of your list.

Secondary is around 275-290. Which is fucking unbelievable for mediocre juice. Taters gunna Tate.

Awhile back I stopped at a gas station in Kentucky (and I could tell anyone, if they really want to know) that had all sorts of "gems," including ETL. ETL was...only about $350. For that price I also got the above secondary-charging owner to call me brother when I asked. Almost made me buy it.

The guy in front of me said "I can't believe you have Elmer. oh my god." and seemed to pant heavily. I don't know if he bought one, as whatever was in his bag was in it before I got behind him. Size was right, but there wasn't an empty spot on the shelf.

Anyway, point is that, anyone that says "I can't believe you have elmer", and especially not after seeing a price of $350, is clearly very new to the world of whiskey, and has been definitely lead down the BT mashbill #2 as being the gold standard. (Not saying people won't like it for what it is. They will, but there's something wierd about the cult following with the BT mashbills that seems unwarranted for the secondary prices.)

I think the $275+ range represents current "store" secondary prices. I would drop that probably $50 or so to reflect secondary "trading/selling" prices.

Bourbon has taken off to extraordinary new heights that previous "shelfies" (which I use loosely as stuff like EH Taylor and Blantons sat for a while while Stagg Jr and ETL sat for a lesser period ) from BT are now hugely sought after commodities when imo, their quality is only reflective of pricing closer to the msrp.
