exactly. I love grisette, don’t get me wrong but I will never need or drink a case of them. People will comment and say “don’t buy the package then”. Just stop.

coco vibes b3 is a great beer btw but I will never be able to drink more than 3-4 ounces of it at a time. I drank one with friends and traded my other for multiples of cans which I’ll enjoy so much more

I still think "drinkability" should be factor in ratings/reviews, and be an actual component that goes towards the total (the same way smell or taste does here on BA). If you (royal you) can't comfortably drink 12oz of a particular beer, I just don't know how you can rate a beer so well. I'm not sure I would give a beer a 4.0 if I couldn't consume a normal-sized portion of it. Still, you see this quite frequently.

Shares are way more pervasive now than, say, 3 or 5 years ago. I have no doubt that this style of consumption strongly impacts how people rate.

I consider "drinkability" as part of "Feel"...but also "Overall."

lol what? So because a brewery makes me buy a bunch of beers I don’t need to get one that I really want, that makes me a piece of shit for selling them for half the cost?

that’s... an interesting take to say the least.

I just don't get it. The white labels are the core of who side project is. These are their flagship beers. On a random tuesday or wednesday night at the cellar when people roll in off the street asking for Derivation, the bartenders kindly turn them on to their white labels. Comments like the one above just remind me of those wanderers coming into the cellar on a random night and asking for a Derivation and ignoring the rest of the SP portfolio.

You are romanticizing this and not thinking logically. They make me buy beers I don’t need any more of. I gladly do it because their beer is worth it, but i don’t need 16 white labels sitting in my basement.

also the take of selling white labels you have extra of now being worse than people WHO USE BOTS TO INSTANTLY BUY ALL THE STOCK is an all timer. They are using bots to get bottles to then flip for lots of money but since I sold my white label that I have 16 bottles of laying around for 10 dollars, I’m scum of the earth

@Bburns87 I am a dinosaur and don't understand a lot that goes on around me. Not sure why I felt the need to comment, but in hindsight it didn't add any value to this thread.

Well we paid for those white labels rather than getting them for free. Will selling those at half the cost hurt anyone? The brewery makes profits, we get what we want and save money for future release, those who get cheaper white labels could enjoy the good beer from SP at lower costs.

No one makes you buy anything. You choose to buy something. You have the option of not buying. With that said I don’t think there’s anything wrong with selling off the white labels at cost or below. You’re not making money off the brewers hard work. I sometimes toss them in trades as a nice extra but usually just drink them

It's always nice when people can have civil discourse. For what it's worth, neither of you really got that defensive. Seems all good to me. This is pretty much the perfect example of how disagreements on BA should go, especially if someone feels they maybe responded inappropriately. Props to both of you.

I’ll be in STL on 10/8 and 10/9 and will happily buy 1/2 price white labels or La Ruche. HMU
