But 3 is above average, that must be a "very good" score...:stuck_out_tongue:

Ya that's always a gem. I find lately that I end up being way more generous for styles I'm not super familiar with or am not a big fan of. Probably would be most helpful to just avoid rating/reviewing styles I don't like or don't know well but then everybody wouldn't have the gift of my very yuge and very excellent opinion

If there are signs on the door saying "Credit Only, No Cash" and the beer menu says "We only accept credit/debit, not cash" and there's a sign on the bar saying "Credit/Debit cards only," don't berate the female bartender when she says "I'm sorry we don't accept cash." And don't call your "cousin who is a prosecutor" and demand that the bartender provides a legal justification for the policy. And if I offer to put your beer on my tab, don't start waving your $10 bill in my face and shouting "it says ALL debts public AND private!"

I'm pretty sure 99% of the stories in this thread are based on actual stories/people ...

What's wrong with that? I can totally see myself saying that such and such is best XXX I've ever tried and giving it 1.25 throughout.

Or it’s cousin, the very mediocre NEIPA/pastry stout review that ends with a 4+/5

Then tell the boss to stop making you say, "How was everything today?"
    Hey, you asked.

Wait - was the beer on the menu you just handed me or on the chalkboard above the bar? Then, yeah, the customer has the right to be annoyed - after going through the list of beer and eliminated most of them because of the high ABV and/or flavoring additions and finally finding a decent sounding beer, it's not on? Fix your menu. You're there representing your brewery - the customer knows you personally aren't responsible but unless the owner's around, you're it.

McDonald's has draught beer? Hell, here I was annoyed when they dropped the Orange Drink but didn't realize they replaced it with beer!:astonished:

Such places exist? :astonished: Pre-COVID? (Not sure how many people catch the virus from handling money, tho'). Never ran into one.

Pretty sure 3 is average in the BA rating scale.

Correct. Our scale is 1-5, therefor 3 is average.

Glad someone else was thinking what I was! That has happened to me multiple times--definitely disappointed, but didn't act like an ass or give the bartend attitude.

Funnily enough, on at least a few of those occasions, I got attitude from the bartender for asking if they were out of anything else.

This and also quit checking ratings before you buy a beer. I think rating bias is real, it inflates ratings and it also maybe in some cases causes people to dislike a beer they may have liked. “Eh it’s only got 3 stars on untappd I’ll pass.” Most of my favorite beers are not rated that high on untapp’d.

Way back, on Monday nights before deliveries came some customers would bitch that they had to have a can of Bud rather than the desired longneck. Damn, the longnecks did seem to taste better. Circa 1975. A percentage of folks are just ready to be unhappy....

Menus should be updated in a timely manner. I'm not a dick to anyone about it. But F ME is it annoying to not have a properly updated taplist/menu.
