I know you prolly drink a lot more of it than I do but I’ve actually been blown away by the quality of some really old King Sue cans in the past 12 months. They’ve been doing limited distro to states around me so by the time I find them they’re always 1+ month old. Always been very happy with the quality of the cans. Zero signs of oxidation, hop presence might not have been quite as aggressive but was still front and center, Citra aspects were still very evident which is actually surprising because that hop’s flavor profile seems to drop off faster than other varieties. Even found a 3 or 4 month old can in my fridge that was shockingly good earlier this spring. In my limited experience since the new brewery has started to fire their cans have had amazing shelf stability. I’d reach for a can of their hoppy beers over almost anything “local and fresh” any day. Yes there was the diacetyl issue in early June can runs so they’re not perfect but at least they admitted it and recalled some of the cans (others definitely had low levels of diacetyl too). I’ll give a brewery a pass when a global pandemic makes you change your yeast and supplier. Don’t know if people fully understand how difficult that can be on especially a heavily dry hopped product with a very defined production schedule.

To each their own as they say, and if its better then local or fresher options cant fault ya. But the fact remains that you are drinking a beer that is not at its prime.

I thought that seemed curious, but a friend shared that Tenemu screenshot with me. Just reconfirms why I prefer to use TTB in general when I'm feeling curious.

And using TTB, there's also a Fluffernutter one on there :astonished:

    #topplinggoliathpricing.

Wondering how many years TG will be able to get away with rather obscene pricing of everything they toss into a barrel.

As sad as it is to say, I think there are a few ‘hyped’ breweries who have caught up to TG with regards to pricing.... Even some push past it. I think rest of the pack isn’t far behind.

This has been pretty standard pricing for TG last 4 years. Don’t think it’s going down anytime soon

I can't believe people still pay these prices for TG. Winning Mornin Delight one year was a "fool me once" situation and after they swapped all the hoppy beers that made them famous for hazebro trendslurm right before going national I was done with them for good. Now I follow these things for the drama because it always happens and it's always great with a big bowl of extra salty popcorn. This release might be a good one and I'm looking forward to some good toilet reading.

If MD runs $40 a bomber, that means that this new BA beer is only $30 a bottle. That's really not terrible. I had a mini-growler of this last time I was in Decorah, and it's absolutely phenomenal.... way better than MD. IMO, the only thing obscene is $40 for the MD.

The BA beer looks to be in a 16 oz bottle, so that's still pretty steep but I suppose it's pretty close to what MD would cost if it were in a bomber

Always interesting to see people defending these prices as "eh, that ain't so bad". I pay stupid prices for big beers I really want too...doesn't make them any less stupid.

The price creep is definitely real. There is a thread in the releases & news forum about some new strongest beer ever made. I don't know the exact price after exchange rates, etc but it was something like $38 for a 40mL (yes milliliter) bottle. It was being compared to Utopias pricing with some arriving at the conclusion it "wasn't so outrageous" as opposed to "these are both outrageous." To each their own but I'm happy I got off the beer price elevator where I did a while back. Yes I've finally turned into one of those people on this site.

The sad thing is, it wont stop anytime soon. Last 3 times I visited TG, each time a large group of neck beards were waiting in line in front of me, mouths frothing to give Clark any money they can for any bullshit they put in a barrel, just cause it's TG.
