    Third beer, second new to me.

    Goose Island Fare Thee Well 6.1% Rye Stout $6 16 oz

    Appearance:     Dark brown black pour, rich creamy tan head leaves spotty lacing after a few minutes. 4.25

    Aroma:     Nice chocolate malt and rye aroma, edges sweet. 4.0

    Taste:     Mirrors aroma, chocolate malt and rye, neutral sweet bitter balance, lightly dry. 4.0

    Mouthfeel:     Light fizzy carbonation lingers throughout, medium creamy body, lightly dry, clean finish. 4.0

    Overall:     Nice rye stout brewed at Goose Island Clybourn, will order again. 4.0

    look: 4 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25

    Black and opaque body; thick, light tan head, foamy and sticky. Gentle roasted grain scent; dried oak. Nice flavor blend of cocoa and vanilla with a bit of whiskey edge. Heavy body, chewy and oily; velvety; outstanding level of boozy heat cuts through the residual sugar body; mostly sweet overall but balanced with a fine whiskey and rye warmth.

    I don't recall where I acquired this beer, but I've had it for a little while. I love the balance of dark, rich flavors and fantastic barrel aging elements. A fine, fine beer...
