I haven’t been so keen on the Sabro FH beers I’ve had so far, but I wouldn’t say no. When and where. I think we live pretty close.

At Roscoe's trying a tray of fh IPA's. The pallet jack is the best beer by far, but I pretty much expected that. I'm liking the fh crikey as well (which again, I pretty much expected). The surprises are the fh hydrosphere from Silver Moon (not very ipa like and no noticeable fh character) and the Ft. George field of greens (a glass of juice with no fh character). Not sure which of the two I dislike more.

Thanks to the heads-up from @DefenCorps yesterday, I am thoroughly enjoying this pint of FH Pallet Jack today.

    It's wonderful.

Head Full of Fresh Hops is quite good.

Also tried FH Audio Aquatic from Ruse and FH Dystopia from Grains of Wrath last night.

How 'bout a webpage on it? FRESH HOPS The brewing industry used the term "fresh hops" to refer to the recently harvested, dried hops. Hop growers used the term "green hops" to refer to undried hops (very rarely, they were called "raw hops" and sometimes, "fresh hops", but usually that was further explained.)

A snip from a 2003 article on BridgePort's ale shows that some were still calling them "green hops" at the time (well, in one paper in Oregon, at least).

Stopped for a pint of Fresh Hop Dystopia IPA from Grains of Wrath on the way home.

Even after a pint of FH Pallet Jack, this is really good.

Both of their FH IPAs were really good this year.

Many thanks, greatly appreciated! Last sentence on that page would seem to indicate this muddling of terminology of Fresh and Wet/Green goes back a ways, including in the PacNW back in 1998. It would seem that much of the modern usage is consistent with the historical terminology of Green hops. TL;DR don't expect singular terminology anytime soon!

The craziest thing to me, though, is that in The First 'Wet Hop' Beer page linked at the bottom the brewer (from Milwaukee) contrasted "fresh, not dried" hops. So right from this debate is as much a tradition of hop harvest season as is the first bright sips and that amazing aroma filling every room as the taps and tops pop.

In unrelated news, Russian River's wet hop (their term, not mine ) beer, Hoptime Harvest is awesome. A whole bunch of fresh Sonoma county C hops make a bright and bitter west coast winner

Steve Luke at Cloudburst uses Wet and Fresh like Sierra does. Their beer Fresh & Wet & Wet & Fresh uses Wet Centennial and Fresh Simcoe.

But he’s not originally from here. And I think he enjoys fucking with everyone. In any event it was really good.

I’m up to 24 unique so far, seems more reasonable than my insanity binge of 75 in 2019.

I do what I can. Fresh hop is love.

    Hey everybody,
Zach from Bend Brewing Company here. Just wanted to thank you all for the love you've been giving Fresh Trop and I wanted to let you know we just canned Fresh Trop-Mosaic on Friday, so keep your eyes peeled for that. We're pouring all 3 of our fresh hop beers at our pub right now and also pouring some other local fresh hop beers from Crux, Sunriver, Silver Moon, Goodlife, Wild Ride and Deschutes. Fresh Hop season is still in full effect right now with a lot of the late harvest varietal beers (i.e. Mosaic) just coming out so don't give up on Fresh Hop season just yet! (oh and the wet vs fresh argument seems to never go away despite almost all Oregon breweries having settled on Fresh Hop years ago)

well, ask and you shall receive? ? stumbled on a few 6 packs of CC in PDX. i only bought 4 singles out of fear they have turned into a normal IPA

as suspected, the canning date was 9/24 so we are going on a few weeks old. Still, im sure they will be delicious but i would have loved to try it within a few days of canning.

Did distributors hold this up?? If im a brewery sending out FH beers for distro, i would want to make sure they are on shelves no later than a week after canning.

Well no FH Pallet Jack in Missoula, but they have F2F Centennial/Sabro 4-packs at Costco for $10.99.

Even if they're past their prime they beat the local Tamarack Hat Trick IPA sixers at $14.99.

First time trying FH Pallet Jack last night at Roscoe's. Hot damn that was no joke. I get what you guys mean about it ruining other beers. My partner's pour of Ruse FH Collective Questions tasted like water next to the Jack.

A beer can be made with hops that are "wet" (ie: not dried), but not "fresh" (ie: they've been sitting around a few days before use). I do not find wet and fresh to be synonymous.

Hot take! So is "fresh" only for referring to hops that are less than a day old? And can fresh ever refer to dried hops? Also does anyone know how long hops can sit around without being kilned before they are negatively impacted?
