I'm looking to get some beers shipped from breweries that are not otherwise available/hard to get in Sacramento. My initial targets are Mumford, Green Cheek, Sante Adairius, and Pure Project. Shoot me a DM if you would be interested in splitting shipments with me.

One of these things is not like the other.

What are my best options for bottle shops in sac?

Off the top of my head I'd say La Riviera, Pacific Market, Cap Tap, and Curtis Park Market. If you make it to Roseville then add Final Gravity, if West Sac then add ROCO. And Davis Beer Shoppe if you're driving in on I80.

Davis Beer Shoppe is my go to. They get good stuff and are curated.

Kyle Leddy leaves New Glory to become head brewer at Bike Dog. Not gonna lie, this is a bit of a head scratcher. Anybody have behind-the-scenes details or rumors?

Damn just when I was starting to take fresh tasty ubahdank packs for granted. Hope they have a decent replacement lined up

Wow that's huge. I really became a fan of NG over the years. They make some crazy hoppy hazy IPAs. I've been to BD many times and often left wanting. Curious what direction they go. BD makes tons of IPAs but rarely highlights the hops used. They do make one of the best BA stouts around Sac (Babaris).

Bike Dog just announced Kyle's move on their Twitter. Brewers should be marketed - and BD does have, if nothing else, a good social media game. They should have Kyle do a Q&A or some expository write up.

Ubahdank was put out in 2016 before Kyle worked there. It is not his beer.

Really all the current beers should stay pretty consistent. They have a pretty big brewing team now that does the day to day work.

The question will be on if NG is able to develop NEW beers with a new Head Brewer.

It really looks like a similar situation to NG in 2017 when Kyle went there. He guided them through a ton of marketing changes (weekly 4 packs of different beers), new can label branding, opening of a 2nd location and big tank expansion. also distro expansion.

Bike Dog probably wants to travel a similar path. Bike Dog opened up a 2nd location last year. They also just redid the original tap room in West sac. But as mentioned above, there is something lacking in the beer and presentation. Maybe Kyle can help with that. A new challenge.

So I joined Sacramento beer enthusiasts this morning after reading this post. I already want out. That place is a mess of a group.

    I warned you...lol...

Any FB group with 19,000 like SBE........

The Sac Beer Group is a little mellower. But YMMV.....

That's good to know. Their beers just started showing up here this year and I had never heard of them before that. Ubahdank and the mosaic IPA are staples in my fridge now

I'm very well versed with NG, I have about as many different beers checked in Untappd as any brewery. They have 3 constantly available: Ubahdank, Gummy Worms, and Wakey Wakey (coffee porter). But it's really about the weekly releases, and some are better than others. They do tons of hazy beers like Fieldwork, same sorts of beers but while Fieldwork is a bit more dialed in and precise, NG's often have a sort of mealy taste, though sometimes they get crazy hoppy. They do the same sorts of kettle sours and pastry stouts you see a lot of places, and those go from pedestrian to I'll make a special trip to round some up. NG does have probably the nicest serving staff of any place I frequent.

I'm really pretty meh on hazy ipas and don't do the kettle sours (I've had some.good ones I just don't like it enough to pay the premium) and pastry stouts. I'm down to try out new breweries and get a little weird if I'm traveling but anymore I'm just looking for good beer that's a good deal. Ubahdank checks those boxes for me and they have done the best job of keeping fresh stock around of any brewery I've seen. I respect the hell out of that. Oh, also Do you even mosaic has been a wonderful treat as a lover of that particular hop

If you like Mosaic Broh you'll love Zombie Broh. It's 100% Mosaic but hopped much heavier.

They actually have it available for pick up right now - it's a semi-reg beer. I like this a lot more than the Mosaic Broh. Here's their description:

Do You Even Zombie Broh? 4-Pack
American double IPA brewed in collaboration with our friends from the Beer Zombies. It's brewed entirely with Mosaic hops and triple dry hopped to a gruesome degree. Fermented with our neutral ale yeast. Packaged in its purest form, unfined and unfiltered. Comes in at 8%
