Well, I don't recall saying I have kids (protip: I don't), but I'm glad you can, in one post, both tell me you're not here to tell me how to raise my kids (I'm glad, because aren't you not that much older than 21 or 22? Phew!), but then also tell me I don't know what sacrifice, morals, OR character are.

Where does crying about Chicago/IL NOT exclusively getting BCBS Cherry Rye or whatever fall into selfishness and whatnot exactly?

that is not because I suppored goose before they got bought out. It is selfish of them to try and hype up their shitty beer by sending away their only good beer.

You obviously don't, you are just selfish and don't care what environment you would expose your own bloodline too. You obviously have no respect for children or family, you only care about yourself and can't show restraint. I truly hope you have never have children if you have these views. Why don't you tell me what you know about sacrifice? what do you know about poverty? real poverty? By people who's parents that didn't care that have no support system. If you can't even hold off on not going to a bar what makes you think you would help support your child? would you make them pay for their own education even if that means they would go to a lesser school and earn less and have a lessor quality of life just so you can spend a few bucks a week on booze? You know nothing about character and I feel sorry for you and I am ashamed that you are apart of the same society as me.

I seriously cannot even believe this is a discussion question. Everyone obviously has an opinion on it though. I mean, fuck, whats next? Give the kids a **** and a pack of Luckys? We're talking about being a parent. Parents do not take their kids to bars. If you have a child and want to go to the bar and can't because of said child, tough shit. Being a parent means you have to give up quite a few things in life. I personally feel that if you take your child to a bar you should be arrested, fined, have CPS called on you etc etc etc.

In summary, if you want to go to the bar, leave your kids/dog at home.

Have you been to a San Diego beer 'bar' before?

Yes, bringing your child to a bar that serves food and has highchairs is a step below giving them **** and cigarettes. Really? Oy vey!

You agree with taking kids as long as the bar is euphemistically referred to as a "tap room." I get it.

I think I like teenagers better than most in their 20s. At least they have an excuse for being ignorant. No offense to normal 20 year olds.

they could hire a babysitter, if they can't afford it they have no business spending money in a bar

No, but I do really have to thank my mom for taking me for dinner at this one bar that was referred to as an "Inn" (at least in the name, I guess it was an inn in the 1800s or so). They had my favorite wings and BBQ sandwiches.

Also, it definitely wasn't a beer bar at all in the sense that I believe this thread was actually about. But there would also always be tables full of families eating, so who knows.

it's like if your at Friday's you can order yourself a beer but don't show up at a straight up bar where you are the only one with kids and there are a bunch of people who are clearly drunk.

In CA if you are 'clearly drunk' you are cutoff by the bartender and a cab is called as you are removed. After all they sacrificed......your parents didn't teach you about moderation?

I wanted to be done but I can't be. Did you not read the entire thread? Or the several times referred to as a SD Craft Beer Bar (thus establishing the differentiation)? Same goes for most here in CO. Did you just create that vision in your mind and then impose that on those that thought it was an okay thing to do just so you could judge?

I didn't mean to judge man, I expressed my opinion and others tried to force theirs on me. I have my opinion you have yours just leave it at that. And I obviously didn't read through 5 pages of thread. I just read the beginning question and said what I thought. I was not rude until someone was rude to me first.

This is the Mill Street Brewpub in Toronto. As you can see, there is no separation between the bar and table service areas. You can see people at the back of the picture seated at the bar. It's brightly lit, spacious, and very clean. It even has a kids menu with pictures young ones can colour in with crayons! Yet in some peoples minds, this would be a terrible place to take your family for lunch. All because it's a bar.

Ridiculous puritans spouting their holier-than-thou crap.
