Is it too early for Saison Saturday?

It's a little wild, but here's my entry for the week. TRVE Ancient Bole, foeder fermented saison ale dry hopped with El Dorado. Really nice. Cheers!

cheating a bit with the farmhouse style lager, but a grisette (Oxbow) and farmhouse saison (Pure Project) will make up for it!

    Fox Farm Annata, batch 3

“Annata 2019 was brewed at this time last year and was fermented in stainless, aged in American oak foeders and fully re-fermented on wine grapes grown by our family (Mark and Lynda Frausini) before packaging and bottle conditioning. Just as we deeply enjoy the annual tradition of gathering in the field to pick these grapes, we love taking the time to explore what the fruit had to offer and reflect on those memories a year later (this year more than ever). The usual bright, tangy fresh grape character is there for now but as we’ve learned, that will mellow and develop nicely for those that wish to age a bottle or two. There’s also a softer, pleasent acidity and mouthfeel that is particulaly noticeable this year. Salute!”

Photo is poor representation; Annata pours beautifully and transforms based on angle and lighting. Aroma is very wine like; dark and volatile.
Acidity is prominent but does soften throughout.
Not as dry as the initial acidity presented. Nose picks up more complexities than taste but flavor is certainly not one dimensional. Excellent Farmhouse; wish it was 5%, not 7%.

I’m eager now that FF released Pebble. Not sure what I would do for week 2. Allagash still have a Table beer? Maybe Kent Falls...

Finally joining the fun. Jannemie season, bottle conditioned with Brett from Russian River.

Kinda harshly dry at first sip.but its softened into a nice beer as its settled and I've acclimated. Very dry straw and lemon pith. Kind of a dusty pepper overtone. Hard water like minerality

There are soft pear and citrus hints lurking around the edges as it warms but this is one damn austere beer. I imagine miss jannemie is a serious woman with a sharp wit.

By the way, I love that there are like nine of us who come here every Saturday.

I have a bottle of Robert in the fridge too. Shared the other one with my wife last week and its an excellent season. Jannemie has grown on me over the glass though.

I just wish i had access to some.more affordable farmhouse fun. Might break open the vermontoise later and I'm also hoping to reup my membership at a local nanobrewery who occasionally does some interesting farmhouse/wild stuff.

We were supposed to be at GFTW today—it would have been my 5th year in a row.

Yup. That was my plan as well. We would’ve gotten a great day for it. I’ve gotta run up to Portland some time in the next couple weeks for work. I’m thinking the GftW bottles will last.

My wife and I grabbed HighRoller curbside and headed up to Newcastle yesterday to achieve a mere slice of what is typically our most anticipated brewfest of the year. It definitely came close. Great food, pours of wet hop FPA, Poly-Floral, GFTW Blend, and an incredibly idyllic fall day in ME. Snapped this pic on the way home. God I love that place.

Sounds like a great afternoon! How was the GFTW blend? Judging by its description, it’s got a lot going on in there.

This years blend sounds excellent, long live smoked beers! If its anything like Lost Nation Fuzzy, I'm going to be very happy. Road Trip time!
