Having a beer after breakfast watching a couple black cats have a Mexican standoff. I hope everyone has a great week!

For a bit of transparency, I didn’t start the thread. I edited what has become this new thread then... it’s fair. It’s Monday morning and not everybody can be up and start it.

Okay, another beer, Tripel Karmeliet. Cheers.

I work 6 days a week; almost 40 hours of wearing a mask to satisfy our thirsty customers. Customers from all over the world descend on our little tourist town; most of whom are very nice. Some, not so much; thus, I look forward to my precious 45 hour weekend and satisfying my thirst, which I ignore for 6 days a week.

Here's to another six days a week on the wagon ended!

    What's up BA?

Checking out Philosophy and Velocity from Ommegang and AleSmith...
Combines a "headline" beers from each brewer - Three Philosophers and Speedway Stout respectively... It's an insta-win for me - c'mon how can you go wrong? Tastes like an excellent strong dark Belgian ale/stout... As I'm drinking it at times I'm getting a chocolaty coffee stout and there's times when I'm getting a sophisticated Belgian quad... Incredible blend of dark fruit and coffee with rich notes of chocolate-covered cherry... Fairly full-bodied - leaves a pleasing semisweet shellac of bitter fruits and thick chocolate... Body is smooth but lively - all too drinkable... (@adrock314 :sunglasses:)

    Best by date of 8/14/25...

Not for nothing - but between this and their Three Philosophers variations - Ommegang has been knocking it outta the park lately no?

    Cheers...

Platform - Yule Jude (can).. it's still a little early for "holiday brews" IMHO, but it's an IPA so there's obviously no point in waiting.. cheers!

Found this at a store over the weekend. This one is a miss for me with way too much ginger. The smell and especially the taste is like ginger ale. It just drowns out the vanilla and barrel. We'll see what happens when it warms and I drink the rest?

I'll jam to young/old Ginger in the meantime.....

I have a floating vacation day today, so I decided to crack a beer around lunchtime. Põhjala Cocobänger: Imperial stout with coffee and coconut.

Drinking an old Evil Twin Michigan Maple Jesus right now. Has this interesting candied grape almost concord grape bubblegum note in it at this age. Otherwise still nice, sweet maple syrup bourbon barrels, chocolatey roasted malts, a little meaty smoke, toasted bread, caramel, toffee, some dark fruits, plum, fig, raisin, prune, grapes, dried fruit, hints of rum and brandy booze notes, with earthy hops to balance. A little fruity and on the sweet side right now, still drinking pretty nicely though all things considered. Cheers everyone!
