Dark Lord Day (2020)

I value the Variants at $1-$2 per bottle, and regular DL at $150-$750 depending on my most recent bowel movement.

 

Predicting secondary is generally a waste of time.

Right now those prices are probably high, it seems like they've dropped since the vintage sale. You probably need a Handjee/Chemtrailmix to turn a profit at $170. Stuff like Rrari/Bourbon/Rye are probably about a push. Most others seem to be under $100, maybe a hair over.

Who knows how that holds up with the 2020 batch though.

 

I really want to do a 2020 DL variant bottle share....that is all.

 

I thought the value in that sale was nabbing 2 variant package at $200. Either way, I didn't get motivated enough to roll the dice and drive to Indiana be it one variant or two.

 

I really hope they announce variants ahead of time. The ratio of ones that look good to the ones that don't is going to be my main decision factor.

You know, I really wonder. You have to figure they are going to have one Coronavirus themed variant at the minimum. What will it be, and will it sound awesome or disgusting?

Dark Lord aged in Malort barrels?

Dark Lord with lime and salt aged in tequila barrels?

Dark Lord aged in bourbon barrels that previously aged maple syrup?

Dark Lord aged in baiju barrels?

A new Trump and Dump variant, that's actually just a bottle of Scope to get whatever awful fucking taste that is out of your mouth as soon as possible?

 

You way underestimated the Earl.

 

Look no further than FFF's distilling program. We know they barrel aged whiskey and aquavit so...expect a few just aged in aquavit and a whole boatload of different adjuncted DL's aged in Divine RIght Whiskey barrels..

 

So they are valuing variants at $90? Possible, but I think it's also very possible they are valuing older bottles more than newer bottles.

 

Perhaps the “custom” labels will be the Dark Lord wearing a mask.

 

Or maybe they are custom painted on matte black bottles (a la Mikerphone), and that’s why we can value the regular DLs at $40 each (based on secondary market prices, of course). That keeps the variant at $50.

 

I don't care what's on the bottle as much as what's in it...YMMV.

Keyrock is Rum barrels
Sacred Sword is Dvine Rite and then.....something....

Chemtrail is obviously rye barrels. Hellaboozie is probably bourbon as it's the same symbols for Handjee
