While everyone tries to process all the Bourbon County stuff coming out, there was some P3 news as well.

    Beers for this week are:

Chromatic Obsession - 6.2% American Amber Ale brewed with brown sugar. Caramel, molasses and honey notes. A beautiful addition to our Fall beer lineup. That color, too..

Devious Methods - It’s back for it’s third rendition and perhaps it’s best showing. 8.4% American Double IPA hammered with Amarillo, Galaxy and El Dorado for an array of tropical fruit, candy, and fresh greens. Super freshy fresh and a perfect beer to keep you feeling good during your Fall clean up this weekend in the yard.

And then they are brewing over at Standard Meadery today:

Hangin out with our good friends Standard Meadery and making a collab, this time at their place.

This will be a high gravity traditional with some amazing Meadowfoam / Blackberry honey. Some packaged fresh and some headed to a fresh whiskey cask for extended aging, finished in one of our used beer barrels and ultimately treated with one of our favorite adjunct profiles: coconut and cinnamon

They snuck in that amber ale release under the Prop Day hype

double strawberry chantilly kinda sucks. it was tough putting down an 8 oz pour. strawberry up front was off for me, lactose was incredibly overpowering. finish wasnt bad but it was all too much.

peach chantilly is light-years ahead here.

Fascinating as we saw things pretty differently. I liked the Double but will revisit. Peach Chantilly had the bubblegum flavor I remember from Smallcakes. Will revisit both this week

I wish this wasn't the case so P3 would stop making them and fruit slushies. They could then focus on making a good hazy beer as well as pumping out stouts!

Chromatic Obsession was pretty tasty with some orange chicken and rice.

As someone who was underwhelmed by Heady initially (hard to not be let down by the "best beer in the world" as rated by BA when I tried it), but who came to really enjoy it for what it was, and as someone who holds Focal on a pretty high pedestal, Blue Hour isn't that comparable to either (I've never had HF, so I dunno how their IPAs work). I could kind of see what they were going for with BH (it's got that haze with the gross-looking particulate that some Alchemist beers have), but like you said, it was too soft.

In a world where everyone has a smooth-drinking, inoffensive hazy, the Alchemist's IPAs taste like a crude first draft (for good reason), and Blue Hour tastes more to me like someone who is trying to reverse-engineer Alchemist beers, but doing so from a base that's fully hazy. I like BH, and it's kind fun to use to try to jog my memory on Alchemist stuff, but it definitely feels more like one of those Half Acre beers that's going out of their way to straddle the hazy/non-hazy line.

I thought the double strawberry tasted a lot like Strawberry Marbles from MORE. The peach was pretty fantastic.

Really, really liked Chromatic. I haven't been too fond of a P3 beer for the past 6 months or more... but Chromatic was excellent. Had to go grab a second 4 pack of it. Don't remember the last time I grabbed a second 4 pack of a P3 beer.

I think BA prohibits shameless self promotion on this site. Though I appreciated and enjoyed the good read I would encourage you to focus solely on using your industry ties to leak pertinent, juicy news on this site. For instance we are still waiting to learn what the GI Prop Day Exclusive beer is and I have no doubt that applying your Josh Noel superior reporting skills to this task would yield more beneficial results for this site.
