    Don't forget Allagash. j/k

I actually like those two. They don't sound like some stupid southern, backwoods nickname.

Ya know, right after I posted I thought "maybe its a grateful dead reference". Then goddamn @MNAle came all up in here with his geography, like some.kind of fancy Harvard fella  We don't need facts here! We've got irrational hatred for the minutiae associated with our least favorite brands!

But for real. Ass clown?!? Why? How? Who?

Update: looked at @MNAle 's links. None of them are in Georgia...

Does Harvard accept wikipedia as a credible source?
You have to follow the disambiguation links at the bottom of the wiki page for Sweetwater river and at that page for Sweetwater creek.

But, all I was showing was it was not just a Southern place-name.

I shall choose to believe it without investigation cause my phone is very broken. Also, sweetwater and ass clown are not in the same class as far as dumb ass brewery names

Yeah, that's the Coolship Lager Black. The regular pale Coolship is also available, and I like it even better.

Recently there was a foeder aged, dry hopped Pilsner called Triskel that's pretty amazing, but I had to get that one via mail order.

Somewhere in the dusty recesses of my late-70s/early-80s, stoner mind, I think I recall "Sweetwater" as a code word for weed.

But, I was both stoned and drunk a lot back then.......

I went through a period of experimenting with using different beverages as bong liquid and then drinking them after the rip. Orange soda was the memorable success. Don't think we ever achieved sweetwater

Imagine (or, just go try) a bong hit through an Orange Julius IPA......

If it's fresh hop, I think we both know it has to go in...the other way...

There's a winery near me (I drive by Seneca Lake every week for work, the second biggest wine producing region in the U.S.) called Pompous Ass. Never fails to elicit a chuckle from me every time. Ass Clown is even funnier, imo.

Once, on a horribly misguided night, I got the idea to dump whatever crappy AAL we had stolen from our parents into the bong. The taste wasn't awful, but the foam was completely unmanageable. Wait, did I say I did that? I meant "a friend once told me."

Burial makes very good beers, so over rated compared to who or what? Just curious there’s probably lot of breweries in Charlotte that I’m not familiar with. Most every brewer would love to self distribute, it obviously helps them to control their products within the marketplace. As to Burial imo they make good beers, but they’re not revolutionary to any degree, they have a core group and imo they do make better beers than most. Surf Wax is imo dull average, I don’t like Shadowclock. Sadly once the decision is made to go regional and you expand your footprint that luxury goes away, so enter a 3 tier system. Burial is in NY, I also thought I heard Denver, but I’m not 100% sure there, I’m too lazy and don’t care enough to look at a distro map. Old Mecklenburg refuses anything but, they stopped expansion plans and contracted back into the greater Charlotte market before they let someone like Tryon distribute their beers. Red Oak does the same, and I know that Resident Culture is expanding outside of Charlotte, but self distributes as far as I know, Heist is popping up everywhere but I think the guy at Bestway says they deliver. Makes me wonder how a huge brewing operation like Bells manages to have fresh Two Hearted Ale everywhere, even gas stations, kinda mind boggling there.

I haven't had Tree House's lagers yet. And I haven't had Suarez either. But in my opinion you need to try Notch first before making this statement. No one's doing lagers in New England better than them.

Do you get the Jack's Abby Kellerbier series? That's their best stuff.

If you do try Notch, I'd try to find their Single Series, also their best stuff. A lot of it is brewery only...but so is EVERYTHING from Tree House, so apples to apples and all that...
