Wait, does it seriously have marshmallows in it?

That might change my decision...which is totally ok, there’s plenty to choose from.

We go to the anniversary parties as soon as they open - It’s perfect, very mellow.
Does get busier as the day progresses. Never been to the anniversary party after dark. The sour fest is the busiest — we didn’t go to the last couple for that very reason. That gets busy enough to be a ticketed event, IMO.

Pumpkin fest pita remains a masterpiece. The altbier was great - no noticeable marshmallow. If you go today, the soup is unbelievable.

Hope you still tried it today. I enjoy the "weirder" stuff if it's executed well.

I love that CBC fests are the kind of gig where people get hyped about the soup

That sounds weird and disparaging to their beer, but I don't mean it as such. Rather just that there are so many things to like about the place.

Had the pita and alt too. Can confirm both are delicious. Loved the pepita stout too. Also, that grapefruit IPA they have on is one of the best of the style I’ve ever had. Brutally bitter from the grapefruit on the finish. Loved it. Great time tonight.

I also got to see one of the Mass Brew Bros get quietly yelled at by his wife as she insisted on switching seats to sit next to the other wife because he was “geeking out too much”.

My first reaction to the Grapefruit IPA: "Holy shit! This is unbelievable!"

It's funny, I've definitely overlooked CBC as a restaurant for the most part, but they always really do a good job of making the Pumpkin Fest food worth looking forward to as much as the beer. With this weekend being sit-down/full menu for everyone, definitely seemed even moreso than usual.

In terms of the beer itself, also thought it was a really fantastic batch of the Great Pumpkin Ale. Last Dance With Mary Jane was a huge highlight for me at last year's fest and it was great to see that as one of the vintages on tap. Getting a liittle long in the tooth, but still delicious - haven't had many beers that peanut butter forward that still taste real for lack of a better word.

Pumpkin Fest is always one of my favorite beer events of the year. Glad to have gotten yesterday as a 'where we're at in October 2020' alternative.

My girlfriend doesn’t drink beer due to gluten issues but used to, and she had a small sip of each beer I had. She liked the alt too but went back for a 3rd sip of the grapefruit and said “this one makes me miss beer”. That was like straight up half a grapefruit for breakfast with an IPA sipped after each bite. Amazing.

Yup, tried it. Thought it was ok. Maybe a HINT of marshmallow, but that was probably more the power of suggestion.

The pumpkin beer cheese that came with the pretzel was amazing. As were the pumpkin raviolis (I just tried some of my brother’s dish).

Last Dance with Mary Jane was really good and probably was the highlight of the flight I had.

Damnit, was going to try that but didn’t. Ah well.

As an aside, that tent was really warm. Really nice set up and I might return just for this reason alone. Other places are getting really cold even with heat lamps.

Still sitting on my growler of YEMS. Waiting for the right time.

Also have a bottle of Brett Sematary in the fridge. I think it is a 2, or possibly 3 (4?) year old bottle. They were pumping out the bottled barrel-fermented beers around the time this came out. Thinking about opening it to go with our chicken and dumplings.

Yeah, that beer cheese was awesome. Wasn't a big fan of the mustard (super grainy mustards aren't my thing, particularly as a dip), but luckily there was plenty of cheese.

And yeah, I was right by a heat lamp and was nearly asleep by the time dinner was over. Like lounging in front of a fireplace. It was awesome.

CBC's pumpkin fest is one of my favorite beer festivals every year. No worries about standing in long lines. I love their take on all of the different pumpkin brews that they make. It just has a cool vibe that I really appreciate. Definitely missed this year.

I kicked the last keg of Al Dente last night so I think all the limited pumpkin beers from the fest are gone except I Remember My First Check-in. Agree that the grapefruit ipa is terrific.

When they tell me table reservations only last 90 minutes I take that as a challenge.
