Will be passing on DLD without the fest.

 

Thank you for publicly announcing this. Due to ChiPez66's decision, I will be passing on DLD without the fest as well. No, we don't have to give a reason. No fest, no DLD. In fact, I will be passing on next year's DLD, too. Beer? Stupid. Dark Lord? Stupider. Drink Seltzers with ChiPez and I, we are the future.

 

Just thought of it this morning, but "maple syrup" works for this. Just in case you were in the "Dark Lord would be better if it were a little bit sweeter, that Mikerphone Self Titled was right in my wheelhouse" camp.

 

Lol. Are you really that upset with me posting that I'll be passing without the fest? I'm pretty sure my reason is pretty self-explanatory in that post... there's no fest. It's a fucking ripoff without the fest. Feel better with me explaining the obvious to you?

 

I appreciate your posting. I had second guessed my decision to skip with people still all in on it, but your posting made me feel good in my decision.

 

I have decided to release a statement.

“I have no comment at this time.”

 

I imagine there are a lot of people passing on it on account of the price without the fest.

We usually have a group of 15+ that go together, and not a single one of us is going to pay that much without the fest. All of us are passing on it this year, AFAIK.

Not sure why dude's panties got all bunched up on account of my post.

 

The vintage packages were $150 with 1 variant, if I remember correctly. They bumped it up to $170 for the 2020 package.

People can certainly complain and not buy it due to no festival, but the pricing isn't that out of line for what they just charged. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

The big issue for me is 4 of the same DL. That one you got 2 if not 3 DL vintages.

 

Four of the same, regular, non-BA DL, for $30 apiece, and one BA variant for $50. That's how I break this down. Sorry, without the festival, with the bottle sharing, it's not worth it to pay $30 apiece for bombers of non BA stout... no matter how good it might be, and MAYBE get a good variant for $50. It's an easy pass for me and many, many others.

 

We'll see about that.

 

And I didn't even get into the tiny little 5 day pickup window.

 

That price has to include a metal band on a stage playing while people pick up curbside, right?

I'm looking forward to getting the email that says we have the option to purchase extra variants due to low sales.
