The other option would be to create some non-BA variants. Instead of four regular, how about two regular and two vanilla regular and the BA variant?

Yeah, that's the same thing I was suggesting a page or two back. It'd be cool to get some adjunct, non-BA DLs, plus a couple regular non-adjunct, then your random "rare" variant.

Couple nilla and a couple regular, and your variant one year. Couple coconut and a couple regular, and your variant the next. Couple coffee, couple regular, variant the next. So on and so forth. It makes a lot of sense. Don't know why they've never wanted to adjunct the base stout before, just to change things up a bit. It makes a ton of sense, and would probably help draw people back in for the beer, and not just the fest.

It's obvious that the fest and shares within the fest are the big draw for people. We're now 24 hours in, and there are still available pickups for all but one day.

I think I would be remiss if I didn’t suggest regular with a shit ton of ginger and cardamom.

I dunno...I think it takes 3 years. Recently had a 17 that when fresh was actual soy sauce. It was drinking oh so divine.

Man, I can't wait to pop a '14 and a '20 after my pick-up on the 9th. Monday Beers just taste better.

That’s one way to cover up the Kikkoman label.

I like Dark Lord fresh, and I like it aged. Although I think 2019 seemed like it didn't taste as good fresh as previous years.

I'd love to see 3Floyds hold back some of the variants, and then have them available for on-site consumption once we're out of this pandemic and they're ready to reopen the brewpub.

I think it's ridiculous that they don't have a regular BA Dark Lord for every allotment. 2 Reg, 1 BA, 1 BA variant. I'd buy that every year.

But they haven't needed to do that every year, right? They have sold out within hours every year, so it has worked well for them. Prior to the pandemic, they had no reason to really make that change. Maybe now we will see some change, but I'm not sure even this can get them to change. They've sold out of 2 days already (I know we think they've been on sale forever, but it's been less than 48 hours since they went on sale), and the other days may end up selling out as well.

Oh yeah, just in a pure money/business sense they haven't needed to do anything like that. I'm just speaking as a consumer because I think the way they release the beers is lame.

I find it hard to believe FFF think they could sell 12-15k packages online (approximate ticket sales for 2019 DLD) in the absence of a fest. Assuming they have 12-15k packages up for sale.
