Threes Brewing is the cure for all NYCers consistently getting burned like @no_scents. You won't have the same wild expectations, every beer will be satisfying, and you'll end up losing 5-10 pounds because you aren't chugging 8.5% hazies 8 days a week.

ETA: Oh and you can actually pick which beers you want delivered from their entire available portfolio! @algebeeric_topology

I like Threes, but I’d say Finback is consistently putting out the best IPAs in NYC. If you told me 2 years ago, that I would one day make this statement, I would have scoffed.

On my way to visit my in-law upstate, I’ve stopped by District 96 and Obercreek and damn, those place are making IPAs that I wish we had access to in the City. It’s ironic that OH was one of the progenitors and that NYC had an embarrassment of riches when it came to breweries, yet now we are being surpassed by many other places not far away. I’m sure it’s an issue of scale and the cost of doing business here vs elsewhere.

While I would tend to agree, can a mod please delete this sentence before resident Finback gremlin @jrnyc sees this after midnight and starts drain pouring everything but Finback from his fridge?

I hope my fondness for Dare to Know (fresh batch is out!) is well documented.

I don't mean to victim blame, but you've been here long enough to know hypebeast collabs spell disappointment, even with HDHC! I have always found the 10%ers to be especially boozy for the first 3-4 weeks though.

As per Finback, some have been absolutely fantastic (where's the online restock on Double Something El Do????), but some still have that unpleasant burn. Also a few have been duds.

My money right now is on dipas from OH Roc when I can get there for 'em. Also nothing is selling out so fast that you can't collect intel first!

Citra + Strata was so good. Where is the rebrew!?!?

I disagree. The beer that I’ve been chasing the dragon on was the OG Street Green. For a while collabs were great. The past few years, not so much but that’s a general statement for all their brews, IMO.

By no means are Finback banging out ringer after ringer. Just a higher percentage of hits from what I’ve had.

it’s just seems like an unfortunate law of the craft beer universe is scale=decrease in quality. Seen it play out too many times

Not even close now, Finback best beer in NYC, great haze game and awesome stouts. I hate to say it, but OH is all about marketing and $$, quality of beers way off. New money can’t tell the difference between great beer and OK beer. Look at the Untappd ratings for G is Green , the batch was clearly bad, it looks like mud yet you have people rating it 4,4.25 and 4.5.

I hope they prove me wrong, but they have jumped the shark.

I know you'll appear if we say "Finback" three times, what does it take to make you go away :stuck_out_tongue:

I hear you on percentage, but it's apples and oranges. Finback drops new beers so infrequently. Fine, maybe that speaks to dialing it in, but OH has always been about selling new ticks.

I guess maybe the way I perceive it is that on a random beer, I might be more optimistic about the Finback. Oppositely, if I have the option to pick from the 3 IPAs Finback has available or pull from the 18273729+ beers at OH, I know I can pick beers at OH that will likely leave me happier than the Finback options. I'm as happy with the current mylar batch as anything I've had from Finback and I've raved about a number of the beers since March.

I apologize if it's been covered in the previous 118 pages. Does Other Half allow for proxy pick up?

Philosophical question - if we’re posting in the OH thread and have purchased OH beer (ever, let alone recently) can we characterize others as “new money”?

Also totally second Threes. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say it’s sort of an urban, tier 2 Hill Farmstead (and I mean that in a complimentary way) as far as their line up goes. I always wonder if they’d started 5 years, what the perception of them would be. Definitely continue to fly under the radar (relatively speaking).

Someone jump in if I'm off, but I've just said my name and they've given me my cans. Would forward your order confirmation in case they ask, but I doubt it'll be an issue
