G-Bot is a distro brand for cans. Not sold in-house. I know this can be frustrating, as it's sometimes hard to find, but off-premise is a big part of Nebco's success, and we want to make sure we are sending multiple offerings out to market and supporting the accounts that carry our products.

That being said, we send 120bbl of G-Bot out to market last week. It's available for pours and growlers at the brewery as another option.

We are trying to send as much of the distro brands out as we can these days, and still maintain a diverse can selection at the brewery. Outside of Sea Hag, G-Bot, Face Hugger and Supernaut - which are all currently distro exclusive canned brands, all other canned products are offered in-house (some brands like Coriolis, Elm City, 668, IST, etc are sold both off-premise and in-house when packaged). I think we have 8 or 9 different options now, at the brewery with Double Fuzzy and Fuzzy (today, going on-line at 9 AM) just added to the mix.

The only time Ive ever seen the secret handshake situation in CT is with Sip.

I’ve literally bought g-bot and the owner asked me where I found it and I told him on the shelf. He called up his employee and told him to move it out back and it shouldn’t be on the shelf. What a joke.

Haha, that is insane. Yeah, G-Bot is somewhat still rare and over-priced in CT. Like 1 out of 3-4 stores would carry them in my experience. The one near my house sells a single G-Bot for $5-ish.

I posted this in the CT Beer Shelve Thread last week but I have not seen CT Handshake in years. When Sip was all the rave (2015/16?) that existed but I have not seen it at all and certainly always see G Bot sitting out. Zero problem.

The Alchemist drop this past week did seem to be a need to ask / know the owner situation. That is somewhat understandable given the folklore with Heady. Same stores had Fiddlehead just sitting out. For me it was an absolute exception.

The days of the CT Handshake (at least where I shop) are long gone.

Any chance for a keg of Fuzzy for home use? I did my part during shut down and took one out of commercial distro when I could, I'd love to repeat that.

Yeah, that is indeed ridiculous. But how long ago was that? Doesn’t seem to be happening anymore. I think both the buyer and seller have discovered it’s not worth the hassle.

Or he saw your MA plates and didn’t want to make the mistake of selling to an out of stater again.

It was a couple of years ago. Too bad I can’t just go to the brewery and buy it. I don’t have the desire to drive around looking for it at stores.

Back on topic- picked up Face Hugger on my way home (cheers to half day Fridays!) Such a delicious beer. Haze Bois need not apply. The packy guy even gave me a cool Sea Hag keychain bottle opener. I chuckled at the irony of a Sea Hag bottle opener as Sea Hag has never been in bottles (nor are any of their other beers except the barleywine(?)). In fact, don't they stake the claim as first IPA in cans? Obviously Dales Pale was before them but that;s a Pale. Anyhoo... TGIF

Ha! It does have a little can tab opener in the middle.

I think Sea Hag was the 3rd or 4th craft brand in cans.

We've done quite a few beers in bottles over the years, but it's been awhile that any have gone out to the distro market.

    Glad you dig Face Hugger!

Loving me some Pique. Is this a brett and lacto mix? And is the acrimony series one off beers or are you planning on bringing them back into the rotation?

Also, what is the aging potential?

    Awesome, glad to hear!

It's a Sacch/Wild Sacch/Brett/Lacto/Pedio mix. This blend has been the same for the first three releases and is put together for us by a lab to my specs.

The 2 fruited releases have been aged in stainless (a single wall grundy tank) for about a year, including the time aging on the fruit, and the BA releases (just Malice has been released so far), have been aged in a mix of wine barrels, for minimum of a year.

I'd like to repeat some of them in the future, but the series is just 3 beers deep so far. The next two blends will be from barrels, with one of them being finished on fruit. My hope is for these to be seasonal releases, but for right now it'll likely be 2-3 a year as we are still building blending stock.

All of the releases are bottle conditioned with Brett Brux and a wild sacch strain, and should develop additional "funk" in the bottle. I think they have very good aging potential.

Stop by the brewery earlier and picked up 6pks. of Kewl Beans and Fuzzy along with some Davidly Roth to sip on through Christmas.

Craig knocked it outta the park with the Davidly Roth label artwork. Nice Van Halen tribute....1984.

Anyone know if Coffee Breath is going to be brewed at any point this winter? One of my all-time favorites and worth a trip from Boston.
