Phew, that one brings back some memories. The 2015 was the first "whale" that was somewhat-obtainable in my locale at the time. When it was released, it was going for roughly 200 in trade value, and might have gone up over the next little while due to scarcity. I have heard of people opening the 2015 and 2016 to okay results (maybe a year or so ago) albeit understandably muted.

I can't really speak to the trade value of more recent iterations. Brothers does good stuff in general, but (a) other breweries have certainly caught up in terms of adjunct stouts since 15-16 and (b) this beer in particular is riding on the coattails of that very, very good initial batch. Recent iterations of other adjunct-Resolutes have been iffy, good, middling, and downright sour apparently... all over the place.

Frankly I wouldn't waste your time with it as its place on the Top 250 is almost certainly due to previous version that are likely now a shell of themselves.

Noticed this come back into the Top 100 probably about 2 months ago. Was also wondering why it all of the sudden appeared, and was guessing a new batch was brewed and it was “unretired”?

Looking for opinions and info on what a 2018 3 Floyd's Chemtrail could get from either Hill Farmstead (stouts, porters, barleywine, barrel aged) or Side Project (vibes, BA vibes).

Does a chemtrail go 1 for 1 or 1 for 2 for the vibes or can a chemtrail get 2-3 bottles from Hill farmstead?

    Thanks
    Jake

Trying to figure out what to offer up for A Deal With the Devil (any batch, but most realistically 2020). Thinking appervation+ a couple other jackieos?

Here is some examples of things i have for trade:
    FFF Brosure 2018
    FFF Trump and Pump 2016
Degarde The Broken Truck (plus others)
    Appervation
    Granola Black Maple
    Dark app reserve
    A bunch of other jackieos

I would hope the three JO's bottles closes it quickly. If the BT is an older batch, that could probably do it as well.

I know volume doesn't get you a ton, so obviously not expecting four $100-200 bottles to get a bottle that's worth $600 What could be an example of what I could get for something like this:

    -BA Ambiente
    -Bull of the Woods
    -PBC Noche
    -Achromatic Vibes

I'd be looking for ideally one good bottle or two bottles that would be a solid upgrade. Just searching for rough examples of what sort of stratosphere I could land to. Obviously, the specific bottle in a real trade would depend on the other person's preferences and what that person has. But a few specific examples would help me get a grasp of the levels this collection is worth in a trade trying to upsize by giving quantity.

EH Taylor barrel proof is valued where?

Um I guess expressed in traditional VR units

B9 is at about 2.25-2.5 VRU for straight sales. If trading beer, expect to trade around 3 VRU for a b9. Not certain where b10 is sitting

Can it pull a rye BBT? Or is one short?

Going to add to my original - two just sold on a local PNW group slightly below 2 VRU. Additionally, saw a EHTBP B10 go for at ~2 VRU shipped in a national group.

I think regardless, you would need a plus if you are on the EHT BP side. Rye BBT has traded 1:1 with OFBB 2020, and Lot B (uncertain of vintage). I think you would need a plus in the realm of EC 18, possibly as much as a FR smble.

How do the two recent batches of KBBS and BBT trade against each other? Are they 1:1? Does either side need a plus? If so, how big of a plus?

Imo these should be 1:1 but I think you will find more ISO for KBBS that BBT which means that a BBT FT will need a plus.

This might be correct, and I don’t have a BBT b4 or KBBS to sway my argument, but the 12 oz versus 750 mL makes a big difference to me - especially since I am one to share these treasures with as many people as possible. For that reason, I’d think 1:1 is more than fair. But, # of bottles in the market makes a difference!

Completely agree. Another perhaps unpopular opinion is that KBBS just wasn't as great as me (and others) hoped. I would rather have the BBT to share but to each their own.

Keeping on the topic of the latest BBT, would Starry Noche pull a BBT b4? Plus on either side?

You should be able to land something like Starry Noche, BBT b3, BA Coco Vibes, or D10 1:1 with a recent EHTBP. You might be able to get BBT b4 or KBBS, but I'd guess you'd need a small plus for those.
