Went to the library. Had an El Segundo Pale. Was tasty. Almost spilled it on myself. May have to return. Thanks all.

Still trying to find some Pliny though...

Not really on the Westside but if you are in the Pasadena area, Lucky Baldwin's Trappiste Pub (East Pasadena) had Pliny on tap last Saturday. If you are out this way, there are TONS of new bars in Old Town, craft beer has exploded over the last year in Old Town Pasadena. There is a Stone Brewing Company Store with limited releases for growler fill, Haven Gastropub, Lucky Baldwins (old town), Slaters 50/50, Kings Row and Blind Donkey all have some decent selection (Blind Donkey only has 4 taps but they are good ones). Anyway, good luck!

I just got a few bottles of Blind Pig at the Venice Whole Foods. No Pliny, though.

I really like the El Segundo Citra a lot. If you are out at a bar drinking, the other local breweries that don't bottle to look out for are Beachwood and Craftsman. And, if you are staying near the Promenade and really don't want to travel at all, the best tap list is West 4th & Jane. It really is worth it to go to either The Library or Father's Office, though.

Sorry, I mean the Blind Donkey has 10 taps...I have no idea where I got 4 from.

It's a drive but Boneyard Bistro in Sherman Oaks/Studio City almost always has fresh Pliny on tap and IMO it is one of the best spots in the city. Vendome and Valley Beverage regularly stock bottles as well.

    A few items:

    1) Vendome Beverly Hills is, to me, tied with Wally's for best bottleshop on the Westside.

    2) To those that have suggested Library Alehouse over Daily Pint, I respectfully disagree. Whoever said that Library's beer game has improved recently is on some crizzack-they have gone significantly downhill since the ownership change, and I think that is pretty clearly reflected in their offerings. While the Daily Pint doesn't have the best selection ever, they always have at least 1 or 2 special things available.

    3) Don't spend all your time searching for Pliny and Blind Pig bottles. We have many widely available beers of comparable quality, both in bottles and on draft.

    4) Carry on.

Total Wine in Northridge (a bit of a drive from Santa Monica but doable), had both Pliny and Blind Pig as of Thursday.

Thanks for the continued tips. Hit up Wally's and found a Blind Pig. Had Pliny on tap, so that was nice. Also nabbed a few other things around town, including a Simtra (which was delicious, but evil strong). Had to get my Double Barrel fix, since we don't get that one. Also had a Drakes IPA, which I liked a lot. Similar to Goose's IPA, but with a bit of West Coast twist.

Headed to Hollywood for the next two weeks, so I'll be trying to do some bar hopping.

Anything specific I should be looking to try? I like the fruitier, less bitter ales in general. But up for anything else I need to try.
