North Park Beer Co. (2020)

We did use Orange Blossom Honey in place of where we would normally use other simple sugars such as Dextrose. Honestly, behind all of those Nectaron and Nelson hops you might find a tiny bit of nuance from the honey. It shouldn't add any sweetness as it is quite fermentable.

Homebrewer here -- why use honey, then?

 

Nothing wrong with adding subtlety and nuance. A lot of times my approach to selecting certain ingredients is to "add more seasoning to the dish" as opposed to making the ingredient hit you over the head.

 

I'd love to see that method used more often by other brewers, it's a wise approach to making great beer. Unfortunately though I get a sense that nowadays subtlety and nuance go right over a lot of people's heads.

Just had a Phantom Haptics. Until now I’ve only had the WCIPA’s and lagers from NPBC. I must say, Phantom Haptics is awesome. Up there with some of the higher quality hazy breweries.. I’ll have to grab more of their hazy stuff in the future.

just wanna say NPBC is ABSOLUTELY KILLING IT... would love more bottles available of the BA offering stuff, but literally on every front ive been impressed by North Park. Quickly becoming my fav brewery in the Greater San Diego area.

goddamm North Park makes me wish I lived near... North Park.

 

If I didn't live 2 hours away and have other family commitments I'd be there. In fact screw the two hour drive, if I didn't have family I'd be there. Damn family.

 

If not for covid I would be there.

Edit: this is not NPBC specific. I'm sure they do as good a job as anyone of providing as safe an atmosphere they can. I'm just not drinking anywhere except home these days.

I was really excited for the Macaroons event yesterday until I found out none of them were BA.

Does North Park send notifications for CA shipping? I placed two orders last Wednesday and haven't heard anything from them.

 

Yes, they will. But I believe they have said they have switched to shipping just once a week, I'm thinking on Wednesdays. My guess would be that you missed the time cutoff last Wednesday and will be on this week's deliver schedule. In which case you'll get shipping email tomorrow.

 

Ah. Thought I read different info on IG and their website but maybe they were not updated.

 

Stated in here on Nov 1st, where "this week" would have been the week starting the 1st/2nd.
