Carton Brewing (2020)

this is actually specifically being canned for the virtual EBF in feb but we may bottle some to go along, if so keep an eye on the FB's and the instas specifically the OWC ones

 

I have no problem with the new prices when purchasing a few packs, I just can't do a full 2 cases for delivery. My main concern was stores ordering less but if that's not the case and it's more a matter of selling faster then I guess I just hope I get lucky moving forward.

 

Stopped by at carton this sunday.

Had the new wedge and whaler. New wedge is excellent. Has really great bitterness and cleanliness to it. Updated whaler also tastes better now. Has more depth with taste to it vs last batch.

I'm excited for the mushroom ale.


Also hoping Epitome is back soon.

 

did they mention there was a tweak to Whaler? Or you just notice it?

 

one of the beertenders (i forget her name) mentioned it to me because I didn't know what to pick for my second beer. I remember it being somewhat underwhelming first time around. I mean, it was good but I expected better from what was said about it. She mentioned that it was tweaked with mosaic and overall recipe

This time, it was actually pretty on the money. I enjoyed it better than previously (even after the wedge issue which has a lot more bitterness to it vs whaler). Just super clean and enjoyable. I'm usually not a mosaic guy (because too many breweries over do it with the overripe grapefruit taste) but this was just really nice, clean and not obtrusive. To me, this year Carton really has been shining through with their stuff.

 

Epitome always come out on BLACK Friday. Get it?

How is Wedge Issue if you guys don’t mind me asking?

 

Bought a four pack at Wegmans but haven’t had it yet. Will have one for grilling tomorrow or Friday and report back.

 

I had a Jersey friend of mine proxy for me, so I will get to try them myself! Cream, Wedge and the pilsner. I’m excited.

 

Nice! I hope the Cream and Pilsner make distro since I may not be able to get down there soon.

 

I'll dig into this and figure out where this confusion stems from on our side, but there hasn't been a change to whaler and its mosaic amounts have been constant. i imagine the difference is the time it's been in the can if your first was one we brewed in CT, either way i am glad you liked it, and am glad to have the space to brew it here in NJ and get it to your face faster these days

 

I wasn't trying to raise any concerns or accidentally throw anybody under a bus. It wasn't my intention. I was just expressing how good the beer is and that the staff made the correct choices for me.

 

I bought a few packs of Cream today. This beer blew me away in 2016 and I assumed it was a one-off. I'm thrilled it's available again. This batch is really good!

 

Good to know. Got some today, gonna try my first can tomorrow. As well as Bic, I’m really looking forward to that too.

 

no one can get in trouble for being confused, we make a lot of beers they get confusing even to me especially in . all's good, like i said i am delighted you like it, we are sold out gain but will make more soon

 

The new Equilibrium collab is not my thing. I’m getting a weird garlicky note. Not sure if it’s one of the hops or what but it’s overpowering everything else.

Bic on the other hand is delicious. Weird that I’m starting to prefer pilsners to ipas.

 

I love Bic. Love CREAM too. That beer is everything I remember it being. Wedge Issue is good. I’m not in love with it but I do like it. It went down pretty quick.
