I got Unintentional Fallacy in my recent Threes delivery. As a self-professed Citra boi, I would say that it's definitely solid, but doesn't stack up against my conceptual Citra DIPA ideal, in the same way that Dare to Know does for Strata singles. Really enjoyed it tho.

Yeah, Dare to Know is seriously great though I think the sleepers for me are Yore and Courage, My Love. I kind of picked them up on a lark, but dang both are super solid session beers.

I’ve snagged a couple of Finbacks from Goldstar, so need to get on that. Tried Cats are People and loved it.

Threes (2020) is the best thread on BeerAdvocate.

Let me make this one more like every other ny thread: Wow, Run Out Groove is amazing. Why is nobody talking about lagers right now?

The Cats is a solid under the radar album, Prestige Coltrane is sublime.

Any good galaxy brews right now? Thinking of swinging by Friday.

Good eye! It’s such a great listen. My wife likes these older, less heralded jazz albums for weekend mornings and this one always seems to get our toes tappin.

How come no one is talking about the $160 whiskey that they're asking you to upload your own shipping label to get? Is it not cool to dunk on OH anymore because it's too easy?

Comments about the liquor store they’re working with are pretty harsh, didn’t see much detail but maybe a Ronkonkoma 2.0

edit: looks like bourbon/beer price gouging the main complaints

Price gouging on 2 year old Pliny, for example. I've also heard they've bought out other retailers of top shelf bourbon so they can exclusively price gouge and screw consumers, but I haven't set foot in there other than to see the ridiculous beer museum/prices. Just total unethical abuse of DC gray market is the overall vibe, so disappointing that OH would have any association. Good start to hating on DC locals!

Considering the time and effort the OH crew put into creating that batch of whiskey, $160 seems like a steal to me.

Right? Like you can just make it in two weeks like some IPA

I bought a bottle a few months ago when Andrew posted about it. $160 was steep but I told myself I needed it to add to my OH Whiskey collection. Personally I'd rather upload my own label than have them charge $20-25 to ship. It's good but definitely not worth the price.

Well if they can collab a spirit that's B.O.H., maybe they can let locals use their time machine to visit the old tap room and enjoy B.L..

This may or may not explain the price, but it has to be why they selected it...

At this time last year we were at 158 pages so we have some work to do if we want to get to 190 again.

Yes, lots of work to do...I thought we were close to our mid year goal way back when but things got slow as OH lost it’s hype and has 40+ beers regularly available. Hmmm...just thinking what the next anniversary release will look like.

Having my last can of TDH Like Whoa...what a gimmick beer. I feel like their business model has turned into brew DIPA, slap catchy label on it, repeat!

    Huh?

This thread steering towards Coltrane is one of the sterling moments of 2020.

it definitely calms me down from what i actually came here for, which was to bitch about melon notes ruining everything. I picked up bagel and schmear tonight as I thought citra, Nelson and el dorado would be a great combo. But once again, the omnipresent cantaloupe rears it’s head and laughs in my general direction. I should’ve known better and just picked up ddh DMD instead, although who the hell knows what that tastes like now. I’m getting tired of this.

But to turn this bitch post around full circle, I finally heard the remastered take of Cantaloupe Island from Herbie’s Empyrean Isles (Rudy Van Gelder edition) last week and, daaaaaamn! Didn’t think that track could get better but there you go.
