Funny you should mention Double Gator as it's back on tap in LB.

My thoughts as well. After finishing off the Wild Field Mexican Lager We opened the crowler of Speed Metal. :heavymetal: Good. But was hoping for more upfront hops. We split a can of 2021. We both thought it tasted like Speed Metal. I was probably expecting more flavor. Still, it was good. Finished with off with another split of Crowning Star. This one was the best of the 3 for me. I had the original when it was released. I thought it was okay back then. Better now. A good night of tasting. Even Ryan Field’s lager was spot on.

Just picked up my order of this years' Sadie and 2021.

Trying out the 2021... It's pretty typical Beachwood WCIPA affair. Nothing out of the ordinary but always solidly executed. My real notes are forthcoming. I've still got notes to write on Crowning Star and Draper's Dram from my last order.

Hopernicus is being canned for the first time next week. BWLB also has a new lager on, Czech Please...need to get me some of that...ooo and a gin barrel aged sour from Blendery. Lots of goodies

I will also say that I'm more of a fan of 2021 now. It tastes a lot better than it did when I picked it up

Anyone had Clear Beer IPA from Second Chance/Beachwood collab? First time hear about this one. Looking forward to Hopernicus next week.

Grabbed a crowler of Bonded By Hops. It's an absolutely solid, crushable WCIPA. I definitely recommend grabbing some

Looking forward to Hopernicus. I remember when they first bottled it for I believe the 4th LB anniversary party. Definitely pick up a few.

I found Beachwood Hayabusa Lager at the Beer Temple, and bought a 6-pack of 12-oz. cans (Canned 28 September 2020 - $8.99).
Tastes good. I get the hops, but they're not obtrusive. I would buy it again.

You been through any of the burn areas?

No. Those trailheads are closed, and even the ACH gates are closed at certain points to limit traffic. It'll be a couple of years before Islip Saddle and the other affected areas recover. Luckily, my buddies and I did most of our hiking in those areas this year, so at least we got some in. It's the time of year where we start shifting to the Western San Gabriels and desert hikes

I’ve been concentrating on the deserts the last 10+ years. But planning a backpacking trip to Thousand Island Lakes near the Mammoth area next summer.

Lot of old beers on sale at Long Beach location right now. Check their IG story. Worth checking out if you like hard to find sours...

Seconded. Nice tropical fruits profile with some dankness. It’s dangerously smooth and crushable with a timid malt backbone. At 10% ABV, there isn’t a lingering alcoholic burn. I missed this beer, (and West Coast Double IPA’s in general) since I’ve been on a lager/sessionable kick for quite some time. Hopernicus was a proper way to revisit it.
