I checked and could tell no difference. By taste I thought the 2020 had more Maple but still balanced. I enjoyed it more than the 2019. Actually had it similar to the 2018, with the 2018 slightly ahead.

My 2020 has more wax than the 19, but I don't think that's a good way to differentiate in general. That's literally the only difference I see in the ones I have.

It was only released to Facebook last time, however was supposed to be released to all simultaneously. We can only see if they correct it this time, but if I had Facebook (which I don’t) I’d pay attention there

Anyone attending KBBS weekend know if KBBS will be on tap for everyone or just those who got tickets? It wasn't clear in the email. Seemed like you needed a ticket to get a pour but also make it sound like it would be $20 for anyone who wanted some.

I read it as it’s open to everyone on Friday and Saturday.

That’s what I was thinking too. Not that I’m greedy but I wish it was only for those who were able to get tickets for a bottle.

I feel like it would be even better if it were only for people who didn't get a bottle. Then maybe people would actually open these rather than sell and trade them all over secondary for years. Having it available for everyone seems very fair to me.

I'm not sure if they are the same base beer or not, but I can say with assurance having had all of those including KBBS that SR-71 and KBBS are thicker beers. Not sure if a beer can actually "thicken up" in a barrel (I always assumed barrels thin stouts some), but assassin, MD, and term oil are noticeably thinner than both SR and KBBS, albeit still thicker than a lot of stouts out there. So, not sure if there is a "beefier" stout recipe for SR and KBBS, but they definitely come out of barrels differently.

Last year only ticket holders got a pour, and they were pouring it in a separate location than the other drafts. I would honestly be surprised if it is available for the public unless they directly state that.

Unless there's a significant amount of spirit left in the barrel (really, there should not be at all besides possibly some moisture in the grain of the wood), aging should not thin out the beer. Aging should evaporate and reduce the liquid volume over time, in a way this could cause it to thicken.

When they first did kegs of KBBS they did a release to the public. Last year was the first time they did pours for winners.

I heard that Term Oil is the BA beer that doesn’t fit the flavor profile that TG is looking for in Assassin. It doesn’t mean that it’s still not tasty beer but just not a barrel that they end up blending into Assassin.

Two years in the making and Kaiju Clash is finally here! [IMG]
After several years of enjoying each other’s beers and company at festivals all over the country, the time was finally right for the crew at Bottle Logic to travel out to Iowa in November of 2018. Bottle Logic’s trip to the Midwest led to the brewing of Kaiju Clash and was punctuated by a gold medal at the 2018 Festival of Barrel-Aged Beers. The goal of the project was to take aspects of various recipes we both brew, and rather than focus on one particular ingredient or barrel, we became excited about how we could utilize multiple ingredients and barrels separately, and then tie them back together in an integrative way. After a long day of boiling and weeks of fermentation, we laid this beer to rest in an assortment of bourbon barrels for the next 20 months. Not all barrels made the cut, but those that did compelled us to finish this beer with Panama-grown Geisha coffee roasted by our friends at Mostra and a careful mix of vanilla beans sourced from Mexico, Papa New Guinea, and Tahiti. Over two long years have passed since brew day, but we’re finally ready to share this beer with the world. Cheers!
Every Kentucky Brand Brunch Stout ticket-holder may purchase up to two (22 oz.) bottles of Kaiju Clash during the KBBS release December 4-5, 2020. Proxies may purchase up to two bottles per ticket (if proxying for ten people then 20 bottles will be allowed). You may only make your purchase of Kaiju Clash when redeeming your ticket(s) for KBBS at the curbside release, during your scheduled date and time. We will accept credit card payment only.
Don’t have a ticket to KBBS? Don’t fret! There will be a limited amount of pours of Kaiju Clash available on draft and the time will come for a future release of Kaiju Clash. Keep your eyes peeled for more info to come next week! [IMG]

Damn, that kinda sucks. I was looking forward to entering another TG lottery that I wouldn't win.
