Bought a Deth by Cherries from a place that sells singles and as I was taking it out of the Pak Tek they put it in the tab caught on the plastic and opened. SOOOOOO I drank a warm Deth by Cherries last night aaaaaaaaand it was fantastic.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Thanks for another year of fun conversation and important feedback that helps us make decisions.

My wife and I just bought 10 books from our neighborhood book shop, because we want it to be there this Spring. We could have bought all of them for a lot cheaper on Amazon. We don’t do this with everything we buy, but when something’s important to us, we make it a point to do it.

Thanks to everyone who also buys with their heart and is keeping all us local breweries ticking through this rough patch.

    Cheers,
    Doug

Yeah see, at the point I'm making pancakes to put on my syrup rather than putting syrup on my pancakes I'm spending too much on syrup.

I grilled up some thick cut bacon this morning and had waffles just because of my Cherry Deth syrup purchase. Everything was excellent though I’ll upgrade the Ego’s next time

Thank you but especially the rest of the crew. The focus on quality, consistency, and service make supporting Rev a no-brainer. I’m proud that you guys are my local brewery.

Completely agree. And I don’t want anyone to take my criticism of HJ incorrectly
Give some Kodiak Cakes (vanilla flavor) a try next time. Worth every penny. #WaffleAdvocate

As an import to the Midwest who still lives a fair drive away from Chicago, I'm grateful for your contributions to this site which originally drew me to Revolution when I was first getting to know the local beer and spirits landscape. I originally thought I would miss the proliferation of breweries in Southern California that I was leaving behind much more than I have, and Revolution is a big part of that. Cheers and best of luck navigating the coming year.

So as others have already stated, Ten year beer is drinking GORGEOUSLY right now. Was almost tempted to drink a second can but instead opted for a 750ml bottle from Angry Chair. Currently very drunk and also have a stomach ache. Tomorrow morning will be fun. See you fuckers in line for some Birthday and Anniversary BCBS tomorrow morning :joy:

I’ve been holding on to my last Ten Year can for a couple months now, dreading the day it no longer exists (same with my last 2 Thundertakers). But you have all convinced me to open it this weekend.

    i haven’t yet, but I will. I will.

I was down to my last X in May, then I found some X in the wild at Hops and Grapes. It didn’t make it last MUCH longer, but I just had my last can a couple weeks ago.

I decided to crack my last can when I found out it won gold at FOBAB. Just an awesome beer and another in a long line of a consistently excellent barrel program.

Not actually lining up. Although the store by my house didn’t even have a line

The Form of the Destructor was an excellent treat for Thanksgiving. Reminded me of VSOD cranked up to 11, which I've confirmed as an apt comparison by cracking open one of my last 2019 VSODs today.

Can't wait for DB VSOD coming up soon! Given how much the Deep Woods series has improved year over year, I can only imagine how it will compare to the previous canned version from Jan 2018.

I'm LOVING this year's Straight Jacket.* It is a bit sweet; not sure if it's port wine, brandy or some other sweet spirit that I'm picking up on**, but it's in the best tradition of English barleywines. Sweet, rich but easy to enjoy.
Personally, I enjoy this version more than last year, but I think you're spot on in your assessment. Last year = raw bourbon heat. This year = sweet dessert drink decadence.

As always, it's super fun to see how these Deep Woods beers shift from year to year.

*I spell out beer names in the name of inclusiveness. Sue me.
**Not literally, I assume these are only aged in bourbon barrels.

Actually, if it's the second solo-domed crowler of the night, I might have stuck...never mind.

Deth by Cherries is awesome. Chocolate covered bourbon soaked cherries. I wish I would have bought a second 4-pack.

I feel like I was misled on the Maple Deth though. Everything I saw said it was subtle maple flavor, not too sweet. I thought it was very sweet. Even BAISLBS is more subtle in maple flavor (this year at least). Pretty good, but not what I expected.

Echoing many others, but cherries is so interesting. Definitely feels someone made a chocolate to mimic eating a luxardo cherry that was sitting in an old fashioned, complex and layered. This has some of the best bourbon and not just barrel character I've had in a beer in a while.
