That's a huge ripoff for customers, and this is why some of it will be shelf turds in the next few months like some of few years priors.

I had no idea what it should have cost, the price did seem quite steep.

The regular was $15 there, what are you charging?

Same but I'm talking about that #4, at $40? That's over 100% profit margin.

Oh yeah that’s definitely high (which I discovered from this thread).

I was just curious if they price gouged on both Goose offerings.

I'm too old to chase beer anymore, but was happy to run into some at Market Basket in Waltham while re-upping on Celebration:
    $11.99 for regular
    $14.99 for Caramella
$19.99 for #4, though I bought the two that were on display maybe there is more in the back
I want to say the Fog was $14.99 as well, but I passed on it.

The real find was they had 4 packs of 2014 BCBS out as well at $24.99. I bought one, there were two left this evening.

Damn man, I want to say it was either the 2013 or 2014 which was the best vintage IMO.

We just did a blind vertical earlier this year. 2014 & 2018 were by far the standouts on everyone’s list.

Tried the Caramella. It tastes exactly as described, they definitely achieved their stated goal. Too sweet and too much cinnamon for me though. A small pour would have been plenty.

I have one 2014 bottle that I've cellared, since I have no idea how these were treated maybe I'll try to do a side by side. Just need to convince the wife she wants that much barrel aged stout at once.

I went with Yankee also since I only wanted to try #4 out of all the variants. Comparatively I think they were only charging ~$20 for variants since 2 regular and 1 variant came out to $45

Two questions for you all: 1: what is the best price you have seen on #4? 2: Do you think it is worth the cost? Looks like 25 bucks is the going rate? Also, anyone come across some Vanilla from 2018 in stores?

24.99 is the price I've seen most places. Some 25.99. I think it's worth it. Great coffee forward stout. Maple adds complexity. I recommend it.

Where do you get Hardywood around here? I didn't realize they distributed outside of VA and NC. I was able to pick up some GBS, Barrel aged GBS, and Christmas Pancakes on my way through Richmond a couple weeks ago.

Trader Joe's has actually had BBA GBS the past two years IIRC.

I work for a store on the south shore in MA, I believe us and Boston got it at the same time

I think retail is 23.99 for #4, some places have it higher. Yes, I saw Vanilla on the shelf in NYC but that probably doesn’t help you ;-)

The best price I saw was Wegmans in Burlington for 22.99. IMO, yes, it's worth the cost to pick up a bottle or two.

RI finally got stocked over the past few days, I grabbed one of each carried at the store in my town. Probably going out again at some point for some cellar bottles as these move more slowly every year. It was $12.99 regular, $16.99 caramella, $22.99 #4.

Watertown MA - Arsenal Wine and Spirits had Fog, Caramella, and #4 today. Looked like about a case each left.
