At the very least, a more trusted source of water

Seems ridiculous to try and grow before securing the #1 ingredient you need to make beer, and you cant import it.

Can you clarify what you mean, because it sounds well, you know, racist.

Also, this lawsuit sounds like the people who were pissed and sued Kona for being brewed in North Carolina. What ever happened with that?

Are you suggesting that Mexicans are a "race"?
    What race would Americans be?

Ever been to a brewery and seen what the water goes through as it makes its journey to being beer? Lotta purifying beforehand, so it really doesn't matter where the water is sourced.

Well, not sure about North Carolina - Kona was a CBA brand, now owned by AB, so it's been brewed at both companies' breweries as well as contract-brewed at City-Memphis but none have NC breweries.

    The result of the lawsuit:
AB in recent years has also settled similar "consumer" suits over US-brewed Becks* and Kirin.

(AB lawyers upon hearing of this complaint against Tecate/Heineken:
"Phew... it's about time someone else got sued over this!")

*That Beck's settlement paid off for me - glad I kept the receipt when I bought the first 25 oz. can of US-brewed Beck's I found.

The comment came across as disparaging to mexico for unknown reasons. Most people who consider mexico a lower class country do so from a racist perspective. That's why I asked for clarification. The nationality was used in a negative context. I am not sure what you're defending there.

Yeah, that's about what plaintiffs in class-action lawsuits usually get. Any benefit goes to the lawyers. At least you got cash.

Oh, I've got no complaint about the amount of refund - approx. 10% (I guess, what do those 25 oz. cans cost? About 2 bucks?). As I noted I had specifically purchased "the first 25 oz. can of US-brewed Beck's I found". I was not deceived at all but then I have a special skill other litigation-minded beer drinkers apparently lack - The ability to read English (even fine print), since the labels on the AB, CBA and Heineken beers discussed all clearly state where they were brewed.

Well, a check, anyway. But those are doubly fun - not only can one save the jpeg, you get a reason to joke with the bank teller (doesn't work if one uses the ATM, however).

well, BA says we should rate beers based on look, smell, flavor, mouthfeel, and overall. Therefore, unless you suffer some sort of disappointment to learn that the country of manufacturer is different from your expectations and that it adversely affects "overall", then I don't quite see what the issue is here. If the suits want to argue that the consumer is harmed by the print size on the label/carton being an insufficient indicator of where it is made, they are free to hammer away at that all day as far as I am concerned. I don't care as long as I get satisfaction in the BA rating categories.
