I ordered a couple 4 packs. Wasn't any more expensive than anywhere else ($18 each). Place looks cool. I remember going to that movie theater as a kid.

Alternate Ending that is. Don't know why the quote didn't copy.

Had IPA No. 1 -- loved it. Light, crispy-but-juicy body, stone fruit, noticeable bitterness. Could be a daily drinker.

    Unrelated:

New brewpub in the works in Hudson. Going into an old auto body shop, which worked very well for Great Flats in Schenectady as far as a taproom is concerned, and it's being opened by a retired couple from NYC. No idea what background (if any) in craft beer they have.

Just saw that! Awesome news indeed, love me some Big aLICe and I really dig their NYC taproom so I think they'll do much better with that space than Gael did.

Also, and this is shocking to me, but Gael's setup is a 15-barrel. BA has only a 5-barrel in NYC so we may even get some distro out of this move too. Great all around.

Place called Old Factory Brewing being worked in Cairo, NY. No word on who's involved, what their slant is, etc, but there seems to be literally only one bar in town, and breweries always do extremely well in places like that so they've got that going for them. Which is nice.

As usual -- more when I have it.

That’s awesome. When I used to camp up in Purling I’d make Suarez runs but it’d be nice to have somewhere else that’s a little closer to town.

Also: shout out to Alpine Pork Store in South Cairo. I always make it a point to go there whenever I’m in the area. Get the maple double smoked bacon, bratwursts (or any wurst) and leberkäse to go with some Suarez lagers.

    Thank me later:grin:

Alpine Pork Store just went on the map for me as that sounds VERY up my alley. Good looks!

Warbler in Delmar looks like an any-day-now situation. Wouldn't be surprised to see a soft opening next weekend.

no problem! you won’t be disappointed. the bacon is sold in big slabs only but they’ll slice it up for you; absolutely worth it. I highly suggest grabbing some currywurst ketchup, too (imported from Germany...haven’t seen it anywhere else...delicious).

also I forgot about the landjäger; you gotta buy some landjäger. easily the best I’ve ever had. keep in mind the limited hours though, Friday & Saturday only.

sorry for derailing the thread. back to beer!

Finback opening a farm brewery in Walton, NY early next year. HELL yes. Only like 90 minutes from me and it's also only 30 minutes from Weaver Hollow so that'll be a nice little day.

Little off but we've got a date. 11/25 here. Opening lineup looks nice!

Strong variance of beers out the gate, you love to see it.

Looks like we've got Heroes Brewing in Rochester opening "in the coming weeks" in the spot where The Lost Borough used to be. They also acquired all of TLB's IP so they said they may roll out some old TLB favorites under new names, which is cool if you dug their stuff.

As far as their own beers at opening they're gonna have an Irish Red, NEIPA, kolsch and light lager out of the gate so that very much screams "community meeting place" type of brewery rather than one that's gonna pump out a couple new hazies every month. And that's fine! We need those places.

The owners also said the a portion of "every packaged product" they make will be donated to a local charity, which is rad.

Mixed Breed in Guilderland looking at an April opening.

Old Factory, based on IG posts, probably sometime in December.

From the NJ Brew News thread:
Since that post, the details are 4 beers on tap, and reservations for tables.

I hadn't heard from Foreign Objects in a few months, and I looked at their IG page to see that Other Half is now doing pop-up can sales on Friday/Saturday at their taproom (not sure it ever opened)? Curious what's going on there generally speaking.

Pine Island is closing their doors at the end of the year.

FWIW, Pine Island and Drowned Lands have the same owners.

Never heard a single person talk about them so I can't say I'm too surprised.

On the flip: Prison City's new farm brewery opens this week. Quadruples (at least) their brewing capacity so we should see some distro on their stuff, even if just Mass Riot.
