Problem is, compounded especially with counties going into purple for COVID, they release 1 hype bottle that sells out that day on Toast, now you have EVERYONE coming to pick up on that day alone.

I don’t think you realize the scale of these Stasis releases these days. Their brew house and barrel house capacity is insane compared to a couple years ago. We’re talking tens of thousands of bottles for practically every release. I think it would be downright impossible to sellout bottles same day even with tons of people showing up, as long as there are limits. The only reason Eventbrite sales sell out so quick is because people from all parts of the region and possibly other states can plan ahead and participate in a sale. There simply aren’t THAT many craft beer enthusiasts in the Orange County area on any given day. Hell, Hypermash Hydra crowlers a couple weeks back took a couple hours to sell out on Toast, and that was only 1 kegs worth of crowlers and is debatably the most hype beer Bottle Logic has ever released.

Oh man, hit me up with that "tens of thousands of bottles for every release" paycheck!
I wish this were accurate, but it simply isn't.

I'm wholly anticipating that hypey releases will be a struggle on Toast -- a platform that really isn't built for the kind of traffic our stouts typically attract. I opened this new sale structure with an innocuous (but lovely) Strong Ale to ease everyone (including our team) through the changes and inevitable hiccups of such a transition. The next sequence of releases should garner a successive escalation of interest and traffic -- but I think the same-day limitations might be a saving grace for platform stability.

In any case, there's no better time to explore new options. If Toast turns out to be an unmitigated disaster, I'll develop something else. We've always got Eventbrite in the meantime.

Whatever the case may be, at least here in the Bay Area, we are seeing increased volume of Stasis releases. Wasn't always like this as I do remember strict 1 bottle limits (high demand low inventory); so I am relishing the good times in that you can get a couple bottles of each Stasis release without too much trouble. Still though, the popular ones don't stick around long.

That smoothie-style mango berliner is insanely good. Have tried a lot of those super-fruited berliners from more of the well-known hype breweries that do them, and this release can hang with the top dogs for sure.

Had my 2nd Space Jam today. Definitely turning for the worst. Just a pronounced tartness right now, but I had my first bottle almost 2 months ago to the day and it wasn't like this. Mostly worried as I bought 6 and now I probably have to get around to opening the rest soon to see where they’re at. I shouldn’t have bought 6, but Jam and Space Trace have been 2 of my faves.

I had another Toes to the Nose last night and I can’t get over how good it is. It got me thinking about the process of how they brewed it. With the massive amount of non-fermented fruit in it, it’s 5.5% ABV. The base berliner must have been 8-10% ABV before they diluted it with the fruit additions. Pretty impressive. I didn’t think you could get berliners to attenuate that high.

The way it coats the glass and the body is pure fruit nectar. Seriously quite tasty. Hopefully Bottle Logic continues making more beers like it because it was definitely a hit.

Kicking myself more and more for not jumping on one of those Toes to the Nose 4-packs. Hopefully they keep brewing these going forward.

I jumped over here after a friend mentioned there were issues and was going I wouldn't find much. Got one sent out to Chicago, thinking that travel doesn't bode well for my bottle.
On the plus side, the Gem Condition with it was really amazing.

I had a bottle shipped to Ohio and drank it on October 13th and it was excellent. Adverse results seem all over the map, but the longer you wait I'm guessing they're more likely. Who knows though, could be certain bottles only.

Isn't that a weird occurrence in the beer world though? Saw it with Mostra Tones later on but no one was reporting those infections early on. I got lucky but I've seen this a few times where something just goes wrong and you've gotta wonder if there's anything storage related in cases where there's either something funky in a fridge that just put the beer over the edge or warm storage.

It sounded like from the Toes to the Nose post on Instagram that they‘re planning on making these heavily fruited sours regularly (for now at least), and that the next release would be only a couple weeks away. My guess would be, though, that going based on the acclaim Toes received (4.68 currently on Untappd), they will be harder and harder to obtain.

Locally Jackie O's had some infection issues, several of them anyway but one in particular that hit like 1/6 of the bottles that ran through on a given release, turns out the bottler had sanitation issues on only one of the bays, or something like that.

Also I remember Kane having issues with a Mexican Brunch a long time ago, and it only hit certain bottles depending on storage they said but I think it also came down to the amount of ingredients that might have made it into one bottle vs the next. They weren't infected but they would get overcarb'd depending on either the cinnamon or pepper, I can't remember.

And in the Kane situation they gave everyone a refund...and most bottles were fine. Much props to them.

I was just perusing Bottle Logic’s Untappd page to get an idea of what might be coming down the pipeline Stasis-wise. Found the following beers recently created in Untappd (Descriptions are blank on these ones, so that part’s still a mystery):

    - Quarter Up (14.4% stout)
    - Adjust for Altitude (14.03% stout, collab with Commonwealth Brewing Co)
    - Scatter Signal (14.8% stout)
    - Electric Eden (15% English barleywine)

And another one that seems about the same ABV as the fresh stouts they’ve been dropping in cans. Sounds like a Rocky Road-inspired canned fresh stout:
    - Road Trip (10.3% stout with almonds, walnuts, cacao nibs and marshmallows)

    Some other notable new entries:
    - The Future is Fruited (7% sour IPA)
    - Factory Settings (7.3% double dry-hopped cinnamon milkshake IPA )

Seems like a lot of stuff is dropping in the near future!

    What is weird here?

The unintended bacteria develops in the beer and continues to convert sugar to lactic acid and diacetyl, so of course it gets worse over time.
