Bruery RS/HS Allocations (2020)

I am SO HAPPY that the Q4 box is all Bruery!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! And with all of the other fantastic offerings this month, my VISA card has officially gone up in flames, lol. Merry Christmas to me!!

did my maxin on the chocolate reign and have a few other bottles put for delivery so I can try them out and see about ordering more. Going to be a busy couple days! Was a pleasant surprise for the hoarders box to be all Bruery stuff but pretty meh about them all being recycled stuff. I think more so because I kind of remember those boxes being advertised as like make sure you drink fresh. Could be wrong though and that's gonna be a toss up for me later in the month.

And alas, the tote bags! See you guys just needed a little bit more patience lol

Is the tote bag included merch for hoarders ? I didn't remember we were waiting for merch. I'm banking it'll be better quality than MT's bag last year.

 

Definitely a matter of taste on that one. It's one of the only BT treatments I can ever recall truly not liking. I still have one of my 2 bottles from the original box, as I never seem to want it over other options already on hand. The reviews are solid, so many seem to share your opinion for sure.

 

Curious to hear what people think of "For A Spell" before I pull the trigger. If it had landed this Summer I would have probably just grabbed it, but with so many other included and purchased bottles this month, it feels a bit lost in the shuffle. Hopefully it is great!

 

Good point about drinking it fresh, although I assumed that was geared more towards the sours in those boxes? In any case, I couldn't help myself and ordered a box, so we shall see..

I've been trying to do that each month with the delivery. Tote backs are included merch for hoarders yeah.

Maybe I'll open that one up tonight and save the Chocolate Reign for Friday. Probably the wiser decision.

In the fine print it mentions they have all been cold-stored and sample tested, so I'm assuming they only included ones that have in fact aged okay to this point.

 

I just watched the Bruers’ Table episode on this beer. Sounds fantastic!

 

Excited for Birnesap, if it's anything like Apfelsap. Going for a Hoarders box, my first. Mainly because it's Bruery only. In for at least a couple BTGR's for the Rye. And maybe a can of Chocolate Churrosity just to say I tried it.

I would be curious to get tasting notes on Reign this year, especially if you've had last years. I opened a second bottle of 2019 a couple of days ago and a fair amount of heat has come off. But, it still has a bit of ethanol bite. What I noticed is that the chocolate or vanilla hasn't come forward much. It's more about the barrel. Much stronger oak and Bourbon. I was hoping it would get a little sweeter. I remember back to liking '15 CR with a couple of years on it way more than '17 fresh that year. Maybe '19 Reign needs more time.

oh man, you are going to be disappointed when that barrel is still there in a couple of years.

 

I didn't say that I didn't like the barrel. I said that's what's coming out. Ethanol masks everything. Once that mellows, other flavors come forward. In the case of Rain, it tends to get sweeter. In the case of Reign, it gets more barrel. I would have liked it a little more sweet. It does have Chocolate in the name after all.

 

Me too. Couple of BTGR so far. Probably going to grab that box.
