I just doesn't pop for me. I know some people love it, but it has never made sense to me. I get some citrus (tangerine) but it's not Citra, Mosaic, even Galaxy (when that's on). It's fine when in coordination with another hop(s) but if I see a single hop Simcoe, I'm probably going to skip it.
^this is pretty much how I feel.

Hand blown glass is the only way to drink your hand selected hops, anything else is waste.

Pretty sure Decorah is a Citra town.

Incredibly talented brewers don't name their adorable feline mascots after middling hops. End of story.

I'll take Simcoe over Mosaic all day. Mosaic is so 2014.

Also you forgot to include Strata, the new king.

On a semi related topic Double Forever Motueka was surprisingly good

I have yet to develop a full opinion on Strata but early returns are similar to Simcoe.

Strata is a confusing hop to me because the aroma (melting strawberry ice cream cone) is so different from the flavor (dank, earthy, ruby red grapefruit). Perhaps it's a problem with my palate. It is quite good but I've yet to have a Strata forward beer where the flavor actually "follows" the aroma, even remotely, lol.

Been a while since I had an ACE but want to chime in that the quality of this batch is pretty stellar.

Maybe I'm just a melon hunter these days, but it's a bit too aromatic and resiny for me.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm so happy there's so much good beer in nyc that we can each get what we want . We're frequently nitpicking preference rather than quality.

    The objective part.

    The subjective part.

Amen. And so much of the latter is just noise...

But in that noise are (occasionally good) jokes about the incontrovertible inferiority of suburban living, the shamefulness of prostituting oneself out for beer, and other tomfoolery.

That stuff is vital, too. Far more than a stellar batch of ACE or [insert your favorite]. And especially when we cannot readily connect in person in the midst of this terrible, protracted pandemic. In fact, I think it's the glue that's been helping to bind us until we can.

Beer will always taste different to different people. That's just a fact, based on our subjectivity. It's how it brings people together that truly matters, though. That's the only thing that really counts.

+1 on the ACE hype train, this is a top tier batch. I either ordered the last four pack off the Centre st website this morning or the limit was down to one.

so, I went with the Dusted as I really dug 1st batch. 2nd batch not disappointing.

Dear eight pound, six ounce, newborn baby Jesus, don't even know a word yet, just a little infant, so cuddly, but still omnipotent. Please can OH have reserved some ACE for this week’s shipping.
