So i don't know any history on Blood Brothers in Toronto ON, but I believe they are relatively new. They seem to make the main trendy styles, hazy IPAs, Sours & pastry stouts. They are highly regarded on BA reviews & Untapd. They offer free shipping over $50 or $100 depending on location. Website: https://www.bloodbrothersbrewing.com/ What is everyone's experience with them? I recently bought a number of their beers to try out. Shumei Devil's Trill XVI Keg Deals & Kick Backs Abattoir Everything Goes Away Under a house in northern italy Balam 2020. So far, I've tried them all out besides Abattoir. I found the IPA's to be great, 4*, but their stouts were a hot mess of sugar and alcohol, which unfortunately ended up as drain pours. I'm in the minority though as they have some stellar reviews.
I first went to Blood Brothers a week or two after they opened. This was when they were across the street, and you had to walk through another business to get to them. One of the brewers was running the makeshift tap room and was really generous with his time and beer. I bought a couple of each available that day, and he gave me a couple experimental beers they were working on. It left a good feeling with me. I’ve found the beers to generally be pretty good. I would agree on the stouts I’ve had. None have been remarkable. Everything else is fine. I like their space. I ate there last year and really enjoyed the food too. I don’t shop there often, but I happened to order a few things this weekend. I figured I needed to try that Third Moon collaboration.
BB is in kind of a weird spot for me to get to so I dont go often but they do have some nice offerings. Their sour program is pretty good. The Spiced Cherry Lost Paradise is unique and tasty. The others are nice as well. I find their non-adjunct or coffee only stouts have been good but some others are pretty disjointed.
There are times I’ve gone when parking nearby legally is next to impossible. My mother lives up in Regal Heights, so I’ve walked down on a occasion when visiting just to avoid parking.
Great to hear the feedback. Never driven down there, but I have taken advantage of the free shipping! I'm sure their collab with Third Moon is great. How can it not.
One thing about Blood Brothers is that I tend to prefer their IPAs more when they have sat in my fridge for 2-3 weeks than when fresh from the brewery. I often get a bit of a burn when they are really fresh. I used to get this with Messorem (but not anymore) and always get this with Sir John IPAs. I used to get this with Rouge River here in Ontario, but not recently.
I didn’t heed my own advice and had that Blood Brothers x Merit Guava IIPA yesterday, rather than wait a couple weeks. Buuuuuurnnn! Also, so bloody thick as to be unpleasant to drink. I’m glad I only bought one.
They do indicate that it contains guava purée. All lot of people will love this though. I’m not a fan of Sabro either, so it missed on a few levels with me.
I haven't had BB since they were very new and in their first temperary location. I wasn't overly impressed. It was good, but I have wanted to revisit.
