Had a chance to visit again last week and bring the wife this time. The food really is incredible here. Did an array of breads, a salad, and the sausage and olive pizza. Loved the Mozart Vienna lager. Perfect for a late lunch. Didn't plan to have anything high ABV, but then saw the description for Walk it Off - Foeder fermented and aged kviek wheatwine. blended with date honey. The date honey added an interesting dimension. The best description I could give is an aromatic reminiscent of various baked desserts that use almond as an ingredient. The 9% was completely hidden. Paired well with 50+ degree and sunny late December days in Chicago. I'll tag @nickMB here. Good luck in 2020. I look forward to making a trip(s) back this year.
When we named it after a beach house record we didn’t assume some weird urban dictionary but thats what DDB does, in a great chicago accent. For those interested...our foeder aged wheatwine w/ date honey and our foeder aged olde English porter (brett and subtle lacto) are both on tap.
Ya...but doesn’t change fact the tap is connected to the serving tanks with those two beers. Listen, no one on here is running out for em on a shitty tuesday, let alone ever. Now I understand why people hate GBH (har har).
@nickMB just saw the Block Club article about your new to-go menu. The sandwiches look amazing! Wish I was still in walking distance.
Haven’t seen any left around (advent calendars depleted stock), might wanna call food smart across street from bungalow, they tend to buy stuff that sometimes sits.
