Im hoping by release 5 they'll be able to do something like a typical release.

$300 is a ton of money for the More membership, for just 9 bottles. My take is that this membership really is meant to guarantee yourself access to all releases (I don't eat there enough or buy merchandise). So if you value all of their releases that much it would be worth the price.

the pricing seems fairly standard. I wish the member bottles would be 750ml instead of their standard 500ml

The More one seems a hair steep. Their BA are usually $25, so 9 bottles would be $225. If you want to get technical, they're a little under $30 with tax based on recent receipts. Even then, you're at $270 if you round up. If you go to both events you probably cover it depending on what is provided. If not, it's down to the glasses and merch discounts.

That said, I registered. They're probably the closest "worthy" brewery to me so I'm not going to panic if I don't quite get value for a year.

Pretty certain that you'll be paying taxes on the $300 if you win, based on every OZNR raffle I've one. It's always been added.

Yeah this adds up to 6 750’s compared to 9 from P3 for the same price (please correct my declining math skills if I’m wrong).

Once out of survival mode, it would be cool to see some more variation and price points in what breweries offer. Right now it seems like either big money for a lot of great beer or far less money (say $100 or less) for little in return besides access (throw in stickers, a shirt, glasses, you get the point).

But that merch discount..just buy one of everything they sell to warrant the price. As I said in another post, I personally feel this price is only justified if you love More so much you can't stand to miss out on any release. This will guarantee you don't miss out on anything.

The trouble with memberships is they hinder you financially from buying other beers from non-membership breweries and/or you end up doing both and having extremely too much beer.

We all know it's the latter. You say that like it's a bad thing though.

Modern Times. I’m a huge fan of their stuff. How did the membership work out for you while you live in IL? Just curious. Btw. GO Green.

One of my best friends lives in SD. He’d pick them up and I’d pay to have the shipping supplies sent to him. He’d ship them to me. It just got a bit old spending $45 for every box to get sent here every month or two. Really good beers but I looked at how much I spent each year (and still don’t get the top beers they have), and decided I’d rather spend that money on local places.

I hope that price includes stake in one of the breweries at least.

I'm trying out Old Order for the first time this year so we'll see how it goes. I've generally liked the BA offerings I've had from them and I wish they would have an outpost that was way closer to the city. It's just such a pain to get to at times, but I really do enjoy the space and the beers and I'm hoping this isn't going to be a pricey lesson to learn.

Basically a bunch of Berliners. If you like fruit things that taste like Jolly Ranchers, look no further.

For me, there are none worth purchasing in Chicagoland. I don’t need any more stouts. Now if there was a brewery offering some really good wild/sour beers, I’d be all over that.

Yeah, I really thought that existed. If I think of it, I’ll add that thought here after.
