Yeah - we went from 8-10" in the forecast to 2-3" and a "wintry mix." When we get winter weather here, it's often a mix like this - which are often worse than straight snow.

I don't think I had last year's, but before I delved into this one, I did recall this is often a spiced dark beer with some bitterness from year's past - almost like a Cascadian dark / winter warmer hybrid, perhaps? I'm enjoying this well enough today. Cheers!

With 16 to 18 inches of snow headed our way, this tune seems appropriate ..

Got the snowblower ready to roll and went out this morning and got a new battery installed in my car. It's been sluggish starting in really cold weather and last thing I want to do is deal with a car not starting in this crappy weather. I wanted to get an AGM battery but they told me they can't get them due to the Covid crisis. Got the next best model instead. Has plenty of starting power now!

Lol - we went from 4-8 to 8-10 to 12-14 and now 16 to 18+. It's the damn snow the plows leave at the end of the driveway that's a bitch to remove.

Third beer of the day is Back To The 90’s, a 6.5% India Red Ale contract brewed in Toronto for Lervig of Norway. What these guys are doing is very clever IMO. They contract brew for several breweries and then sell it through their online shop. This beer has really grown on me.

Kathleen Edwards is from Ottawa and falls into that Alt Country/Country Rock area. This song is from a great album called Failer. I’ve always been drawn to female artists who aren’t all shiny and perfect. Yes, I’m looking in your direction Lucinda Williams and Chrissie Hynde. Cheers.

Yeah - I like to go out and shovel throughout the day when we get real snow - exercise and keeping ahead of the game. We live at the end of a cul de sac / dead end street, but luckily the plows usually get the snow decently out of the way, but we still have some work afterwards more often than not.

I generally try to get out at the halfway mark so that I'm not dealing with the full payload, but since this is going to happen mostly overnight, that's probably not going to be likely. Cheers, hope you don't have too much of a mess to deal with you - that applies to all BA's!

not sure if you are gonna want to hear this, not sure if you picked yours too early? here at my moms it takes roughly 6-9 months 'pod to pick' as i call it, we wait for them to turn yellow, pick individuals daily. if a bunch falls too early they tend not to ever ripen. latest ones mainly burst early due to hottest 3 months ever around here

Well 2 days until vacation. They better not reschedule or they'll be paying my 2 weeks vacation and finding a new employee. Picked some stuff up to help make the next couple days at work go quicker. Shop owner threw in some phenibut to try. Says if I take both together I'll feel like a new man. Uggh hurry up Friday. @superspak I highly recommend trying phenibut with your gf  I've "heard" you get super "excited"

Ok, onto another less popular (or more rare) style - Baltic porter from SW Virginia...

Raven’s Roost was an impressive offering from Parkway out of Salem, VA - on par with or better than their Get Bent [Mountain] IPA.

I don’t know, with Raven’s Roost and Devil’s Backbone Danzig, southwest Virginia might want to market their Baltic porter capabilities.

As an aside, this is a slightly more fruity, slightly thinner, slightly sweeter porter. I have some Black Butte from Deschutes in house, might do a comparison...

I brought home a big box of files to work on tomorrow, the snow blower is tuned up, the new whole house generator is operational, and there’s lots of beer on hand. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Hmm, I've never heard of phenibut but nothing a Google search can't help. Doesn't sound very innocuous after reading a bit about it.
