    Good morning BA

starting with a new one from Carton.

    Pineapple Haze. 8% ABV.

double ipa with pineapple and hemp seed oil.
New stuff came in last week this was one of them. At 10 IBU it feels bigger and the hops are huge. I added the beer to the database with a pic and a review.

I’ve interviewed the man years ago and written about carton numerous times and this is the out of the box stuff that made me a fan since 2014. If Augie still lurks these forums you killed it bro. And with the upmost respect saying this....I am not on the hype train if that makes sense. Like I don’t love every beer no matter what because it’s Carton, but this is killer.

    cheers all.

with an extremely appropriate song to follow

Thanks for kicking things off @Urk1127 from Philly, where it is Always Sunny, even during snow storms!

I've been taking my sweet time with my first beer for the Beer Advocate Christmas Beer Online tasting event. If you have Christmas beers planned for the weekend in preparation for Christmas next week, please consider visiting the thread and posting your take.

This beer was from my cellar, likely 3-5 years old. Still going strong, the primary difference from fresh is the coffee drop off and the fact it is slightly sweeter as a result.

    Prairie Artisan Christmas Bomb

Hope you have a pleasant beer and music weekend, and a few Christmas beers to sample over the next week.

"Are you going to drop the bomb or not?"

Have a good Friday. I did another 8+ hours and my buddy threw me a nice baggie for a pack of smokes from work. He got off at 11pm and I threw it in my car because it reeked. Did a lot of truck and beer order stocking because it was a mess in the cooler and on the sales floor. As usual. I also learned we sell a fuck ton of Bud Ice 3 packs and Twisted Tea 24 ounce. Mostly general macro otherwise, but there are still people coming in for some GLBC Xmas ale or whatever occasionally. Even had someone get the Thirsty Dog one when I was on drive thru last week.

I am going to Gasoline Alley in Bath with my Uncle for lunch today. Wonder what the tap list will look like, but the food looks banging.

Seems like I got a sinus infection now as the night went on. Was sneezing and blowing my nose a lot. Figures that 3 weeks after I start a new job requiring a mask on all day in the cold fridge might have caused me to catch something. Also if you don't wear a mask, you can go fuck yourself. At least 33% of the customers in the store do it. It's just saying a big fuck you to us from our perspective. Science means everything to me.

    Awesome NEIPA.

    Cheers

I was listening to WONE all night. This got stuck in my head when I got home from work. Was played at 1:36 AM, had to find it :joy:

Good morning BAs! I took yesterday off, and I slept in this chilly morning...42°, breezy with a chill of 36°... dogs/chores done, it’s coffee time - Péché Mortel:

Bottled 10/14/16. Poured at 56°. At 4+ years the coffee is still strong. A fantastic coffee stout. My stash is starting to run low...

The cold front moves through today, highs in the mid 50s. Never fear, it will be back in the 70s tomorrow and sunny ...good thing too; Jr. Z moves into his first no-roommates apt. tomorrow, and I’m driving the u-haul. Time flys...Cheers y’all!

Good morning fine advocates of beer!

So yea as many people have been mentioning recently it’s about Stout season and I’ll also purchase more when I could. This is from a more or less local brewery to me, an Imperial Milk Stout at 10,5%, heavy bodied with low carbonation. Vanilla and nuts. Palatable beer, maybe not as well-crafted as some Milk Stouts I’ve had before like those from New Holland. Still good.

    an amazingly hidden gem here

    yeunglings lord chesterfield ale.

apparently classified as an English pale ale
5.4% abv and dry hopped with what I suspect to be cascade. Super clean. Tangy. Floral. It’s on par with Sierra Nevada which I’m sure most people here think I’m nuts for speaking such shit but it’s true and really awesome for a $7 sixer.

aggro pour only got me so far but the orange peel. The woodsy weedy sticky hop character sticking to the glass there’s great lacing here. Fruity yeasty back end full bodied. It’s a winner for me.

Speaking of doppelgängers, any BA folks love King Diamond as much as I do ?

Play loud as you can. I remember being in high school coming home and absolutely BLARING king diamond and my poor father would yell “WHAT AM I HEARING?!” Because of the piercing falsetto.

    cheers everybody.

    Tonewood Revolution Porter. 6.5% ABV

first one from Tonewood. Out of Oaklyn NJ. The brewer that I’ve been told makes the best IPA in jersey (Fuego). This one is made with coffee from Revolution in Collingswood NJ. So keeping super local. The brewer is 10 miles from me.

very straight forward porter. Coffee is tasty. Incredibly balanced. The feel of this beer tho. !!! Lush and fluffy. Not too big. Like if fresh merengue could be a beer. Not flavor. All texture. Nothing too acidic from the coffee. Just simply a very well balanced coffee porter before I take this walk in the snowy slushy wastes. This beer is like a literal coffee pillow.

such a lush soft beer from jersey respects a lush soft song from jersey. You guys like pirates? How about death/thrash ? Let me know

    peace

Hard not to be productive in this kind of weather here...this week we cut back the plumeria (the trees that produce the fragrant flowers used to make leis in Hawaii) and I’ve lined up the cuttings curbside for our neighbors to take...easily transplanted and hardy!

Trying this year’s version - Xōcōveza:

Canned 9/24/20. Poured at 59°. The taste is again this year subdued cinnamon, bittersweet dark chocolate and spicy verde sauce; some vanilla on backend. Well balanced, keeping the cinnamon under control. A little heat/peppers bite on tip of tongue. I like! Back at it BAs, and Cheers!
